Based on the games so far, what do you speculate the Rockets will try to do around mid-season?

I know JVG is no Larry Brown, but you gotta believe we will get heavily involved in talks around february.

What changes can we make to get better consistancy from our team? Is it still a matter of time? Or are there fundamental problems with our current roster?

    My 2 cents...

a relatively minor trade (or signing) for a more stable veteran point guard. Someone to come in and calm the team down, and make crucial smart plays down the stretch.......

I don't think it will take until February. By then, we could be in trouble, what with this chicken-with-its-head-cut-off offense we run.

I still say Nick Van Exel. Gawd, to call NVE "stable" is like hiring Rasheed Wallace to be a departmen store Santa. But NVE in his adopted home would do wonders for this r****ded-a$$ team.

NVE is too expensive for us, Steve Nash and Eric Snow are perfect for us. Plus if we can bring in a decent PF :D ....

If we can get Nash it would be a steal. He's the best pure PG in the west.
Knowing Cuban he'll probably rip us off and get Yao and Steve in return.

Get real. We ain't gettin Nash. Nobody is. And how is Eric Snow gonna help us?

Most of you won't like this but the playmaking PG we needed was signed by Miami the other day. Rod Strickland. That's the kind of playmaker we need. A grizzled veteran with true point guard skills. And he knows it's near the end of the line so the chances are good that he won't be a disruption in Miami but a pleasant surprise. Watch and see.

But he's already gone. So, why don't we bring in Mark Jackson? He's another cagey veteran with skills. We don't have to trade players and draft picks for a guy like that. He would give us everything someone like Charlie Ward or Eric Snow would give us and we wouldn't have to give up anything to get him.

Nobody is gonna take Moochie off our hands in a trade for their point guard. It just ain't gonna happen.
