Rules

I saw this on the Pacers board and I thought it would be fun to do here. I made some variations to make it a little more interesting. For each Rockets game post what you think the Rockets and their opponent will score. The winner will be the one whose estimate is closest to the actual score of each team.

Example:
Prediction
Rockets: 102
Pacers: 84

Actual Score
Rockets: 94
Pacers: 88

Your score would be (102-94) + (88-84) = 12

The poster with the lowest score will get a win for the game, and we can have a standings sheet to see who ends up with the most wins for the season.

Tie breakers:
If two people have the same score, the person who picks the winning team will get the win. You could also predict a tie and still win (off by 1 point). If this happens and there is a tie, and nobody picked the winning team, then the person who predicted a tie will get the win. If more than one person picked the winning team and had the lowest score, than each person will get the win.

Scoring System for the Season:
Getting a win (as defined above): 10 points
Lowest score (but lost tie breaker): 5 points

Bonus points:
Getting the Rockets score exactly right: 3 points
Getting the opponents score exactly right: 2 points
Getting both teams score exactly right: 25 points

The highest total points possible for a game is 40 points (10 for the win, 3 for getting the Rockets score exactly right, 2 points for getting the opponents score exactly right and 25 for getting both teams exactly right).

Additional rules:
Anyone can join throughout the season, and you don't have to play every game. Only predictions made in this thread will count for game standings.

This thread will be used for all games so we don't clutter the board with 81 extra threads. You can post up to three games in advance in this thread in case you will be out for a while. I will try to keep the season standings in this post and results for each game will be a new post at the end of this thread.

 

I'm going to try and do it after each game, though there are some times I'll only be able to update the standings at the end of the week. I'm going to set up a spread sheet to keep track of the scores.
