I'm not sure, but I just ordered it this morning (and having to talk to about 6 people, getting hung up on, and being put on hold for I don't know how many times). When I ordered it, the lady said the NBA League Pass season starts on October 9th.

If memory serves me right, they only show limited preseason games, not all.

Time Warner cable in Houston is advertising it at $179.

Last season with league pass they put the entire preseason on "free view" and showcased only a few a night.

I'm crossing my fingers, hoping they'll show preseason games on NBA League Pass.

    writhe,

Good find. I believe if digital cable subscribers go to www.indemand.com, you'll find they're offering the $20 off as well.

    DoD-

Is there a difference between ordering through Time Warner or ordering through Indemand?

I also forgot that on the Time Warner ads, they mentioned a free preview which is also mentioned on the Indemand site. It says the free preview runs from 10/30/01 through 11/4/01.

    writhe,

I have no idea to be honest. When I ordered yesterday I didn't even know about the $20 off, so I'm not sure I'll even get that. I went straight through the cable company when I ordered, too.

My apartment does not have free cable so I order Time Warner Digital Cable.

My friends have free cable which I believe is from Time Warner. We want to order League Pass, however they do not want to pay for Digital Cable. I believe they would only have to pay for the converter box ($4.99/month), navigator ($4.00/month), tax, and League Pass.

My suggestion was that I would order League Pass for my converter and leave the box at their place. I can do with regular cable since I spend most of my time at their place.

My question is would this setup work? I mean is the signal sent to the converter or to the individual address of the subscriber?

Anyone have free apartment cable and order League Pass?

I'm going to call up Time Warner later this week. Any information would be appreciated.

    Smokey-

I'd be surprised if you can get League Pass without having digital cable.

    Warning to all:
If your dealing with Time Warner, make sure you get something in writing, or a confirmation number. They're the biggist, most worthless pile of dung heap ever. If you sign up early for the discount, get some kind of confirmation, do not take their word. You will get billed the full amount, and then they will say "sorry sir, we show no record of your call prior to this date, you must pay full price". When you set up your payment for four equal payments. They will bill you once for the motherload, and when you try to call, they will say, "sorry sir, we show no record of your call prior to this date, you must pay full price". If you have problems with the games coming in clearly, with out jumping around, or half of your channels don't work at all, and you call and they promis you credits for missed games (for me it was half the season they were going to credit), get it in writing, because when you call, they'll tell you again, "sorry sir, we show no record of your call prior to this date, you must pay full price". Talk about F'ing you in the drive thru...they are the best! They've done it to me two years in a row! Will I order it this year....of course, but I've learned my lesson (I think).

I've been watching the NHL League Pass or whatever its called.

Pretty damn cool. Of course I don't watch hockey, but when I have to power to watch any game I want to..its AWESOME!

I can't wait for the NBA.

I thought all was lost when I move from H-town to Orlando. Yea, Tracy McGrady and Grant Hill are great, however, I'll take Steve and Cuttino any day, why I love the Rockets.

I have watched 82 games over the last 4 years via DirecTV.

However, it sucks when it rains, thunderstorms, or lightining, because the signal goes out for extend periods of time, like 2 hours or more. I'm switching back to cable once they're allowed to show the NFL league pass, which costs $149 and I can watch my favorite QB - Kordell throw bounce passes like Steve.
