India has never let go of it's claim of that land. The British did not have legal authority to give away Indian land to the Chinese in a ridiculous way. China had no claim to Tibet either, it just invaded based on the fact at one time it had invaded it hundreds of years ago and occupied it. I think you have a very nationalistic view of your country which can do no wrong in your eyes.

Isn't that how most of the countries today are formed? How did US get its territory? How did Iran Iraq, Many of European countries get its current territory?

Ok, but then don't say that China is just doing construction and India is acting irrationally. Just call it what it is - a land grab.

Taiwan is an independent, sovereign nation.

you're full of flip; Taiwan is almost a thousand miles closer to the Chinese mainland than Hawaii is to CONUS

what do you have against the truth ?

the so-called disputed area is in Tibet. this is the second time since 1962 that India has crossed the border into Tibet territory and then falsely accusing China of trespassing into Indian territory.

in 1962, after trespassing into Tibet territory, the Indian army got its ass kicked
Neville Maxwell, the author of India’s China War, .who covered the 1962 China-India border war as the South Asia correspondent for The Times , had this to say
India's claim of an “unprovoked Chinese aggression” which had taken India by surprise was an absurd myth long ago exposed and belied internationally. In India the myth has fermented in high military as well as political circles a longing for revenge.
    my 2 cents:
India's longing for revenge is only exceeded by its need to get back at China for
letting Pakistan join the 21st Century Silk Road project

that still doesn't change the fact that it is Tibet territory.

yes it did; India was operating under British jurisdiction.

btw, it is Tibet land, not Indian.

The British never had legal jurisdiction over India.

dispense w the meaningless rhetoric, and deal w reality.

fyi, in Taiwan, the talk of re-unification has been on the rise, but still has a long way to go.

as recently as 20 yrs ago, in Taiwan, any mentioning of re-unification could land one in jail.

however, the continued skyrocketing of the Chinese economy, coinciding w the continued weakening of the Japanese economy, has shifted the stand of the pragmatic Taiwanese. Taiwan has never been as dependent on the China economy

two demographic trends, among the Taiwanese populace, have evolved
    • increasing # of Taiwanese retirees are retiring in the mainland, mainly heading to China's coastal Fujien province, where the $$$ stretch a long way.
    • young professional, fresh out of college, are finding the jobs of their choice in China much easier than in Taiwan
    • Young entrepreneurs are finding it much easier to start business ventures in China, eg FoxConn'
      • Some of them are tapping into the opportunities offered by this evolving demographics; they have developed retirement communities in China catering to Taiwanese retirees, as well as Mandarin-speaking Chinese American who want to stretch their social security and retirement funds

The Chinese/Taiwanese can be many things, stupid they're not.
Economics will run its course, China re-unification is inevitable, but it is still a long way off.

you need to take your beef w the Brits, as well as
the signers of India's independence from the Brit, who had agreed to honor the 1890 Convention between the Brits and China.

but why resort to taking it out on the PRC ?

you do know that, in taiwan, not only are some people talking about it, there are polls taken on re-unification, no ?

polls indicate that support for re-unification has risen from zero, to 2%, and then 5%

There is no talk of reunification -- Taiwan is a sovereign nation with a powerful military backed by the world's only hyperpower. Taiwan could easily defend themselves against a Chinese invasion attempt without American intervention. As history has proven time and time again China has no backbone for intense warfare -- they would quickly rollover as casualties mounted and surrender. China has a poor history fighting island nations and would never risk inviting Taiwan to invade the mainland and retake territory.

China should be more worried about its rising debt, especially its toxic debt. China is curtailing Chinese companies from buying foreign companies but its proving hard to stop. A lot of China's debt to toxic, or unproductive assets. Flooding the markets with cheap goods is a good way to grab market share but long term that debt becomes unproductive.

Maybe all of this saber rattling is a distraction to China pumping up its economy through an aggressive monetary policy.

Are you saying the Chinese aren't trying to clamp down on Chinese firms buying foreign firms because they are worried about too much debt?

Can I talk about how Chinese stole a lot of intellectual property in order to play catch up there as well?

That's the thread where you kept ignoring the articles about toxic debt?

i can only conclude that dmoneybangbang is too afraid to re-visit the thread where he was previously schooled on the issue of China's debt situations and attendant issues.

and i counter the parrot of rhetoric with this
