I found out just the other day that a good musician friend of mine died of an apparent heart attack. He was right around my age (32) and was in good health. He died in his rehersal room doing what he loved - playing music. He was a tremendously talented percussionist and vibraphonist. Many, MANY area musicians worked with him. I had the pleasure of playing with him for 4 years in a Latin rock band and for over a year playing jazz. He and I always had a good time and he always made me laugh. I and many others in Houston will miss him a great deal. I know that at least one member of this board (Axeman) knew him well and another (BBall Freak) probably knew of him. He leaves behind two daughters as well. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts. <img src="http://www.saveourrockets.com/joeseph.jpg"> Joseph Jackson (far left), you will be missed, my brother.
One further note, there is info on Joe, benefits being held for him this weekend and a nice tribute thread for him at the link below. http://www.jazzhouston.com/home.jsp
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your friend, and his family. I visited that link, and he sounds like he was a cool guy.
Thirty two years on this earth is not long enough. I suppose God needed him elsewhere. My thoughts, prayers and wishes are with you and yours...
