I know some people have had success watching the games on one of these two programs. I still get pretty choppy video, which is pretty much unwatchable. It's not my internet connection, which is quite fast. I was wondering more about those who also had bad video, but somehow fixed it. How did you do it? Also, is anyone having success watching it behind a router? I played around with the ports, but that doesn't seem to have much of an effect. I will try connecting directly to the internet tonight to watch it, and maybe that will work... (Girlfriend's house doesn't have RaptorsTV... I am extremely tempted to ditch her and go home to watch it )
I suspect it has something to do with most of the users are in China. I was able to watch it using ppstream at school, but the video was pretty choppy. I think I will have to settle in lurking in the chat room at game time.
I had the impression that several North American users were having success... can anyone confirm? (Damn you in advance.)
I've never had a problem with it. The chinese is a little annoying and the video quality is nothing to brag about, but it works fine. I'm glad I don't have to use it tonight, though. But I really am dreading what Charles and Kenny are going to say about our team.
Does anybody know which channel this will be on? Both programs will do, allthough PPlive is IMO better. I don't understand chinese so it's a little bit difficult to search these myself.
According to this, it looks like it will be on Starsports Asia. My Chinese is not that good, though, so I defer to anyone else who could read it better. *I'm looking at the November 11th listing*
You may need to apply a patch to remove the outbound TCP connection limit per second (10) on Windows XP2. Try this link for a patch: http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=1497. PPLive and PPStream runs a lot better for me after this patch.
It will show up on here before game time: http://babelfish.altavista.digital....?lp=zh_en&url=http://www.chzdy.com/tvlive.asp -either on page 1 or 2. just look for "NBA" or "Rocket" you need pplive installed. Hope that helps.
I am in North American and the connection for CCTV 800K is really great(near TV quality). I am using Comcast.
watching CCTV5 via ppstream (hehe ppstream). why on earth do they cut away in the middle of game action to show these guys' commentary in studio? ummm, when the ball is in play, I WANT TO WATCH THE GAME, NOT TWO TALKING HEADS...
Anyone understand why the CCTV guys keep trying to analyze things during the game, while taking the video away from the action? very weird...didn't happen in the other games I have seen on the channel.
I think it was a technical glitch, the two guys later apologized to the audience for the interruptions.
