http://www.nba.com/powerrankings/index.html NBA.com 2 Houston (3) 39-20 Off: 107.6 (16), Def: 102.5 (2) -- Maybe you thought the Rockets would beat the Wizards and Grizzlies after Yao went down. But, admit it. You thought they would lose to the Nuggets on Sunday. Well, you forgot about the Rockets' defense, which has a ridiculously good 92.1 rating in the three Yao-less games. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/powerranking?season=2008&week=18 ESPN 5 (5) Rockets 39-20 We're not trying to be killjoys, but facts is facts: 13-0 in February cannot be considered a perfect month if your best player -- and Yao is the Rockets' undisputed No. 1 at this point -- schedules season-ending surgery.
beat ya. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=143928 Someone else already had that espn one too....man I hate espn.
Why the hell do you guys give two sh**s about power rankings? It's just some random douche's opinion on ever team in the NBA. They are truly worthless.
thats the worst freaking excuse ESPN gave for not ranking us higher, I swear, even if we hit 34 game winning streak and Kobe hitting like 50 pts the same night, I wonder who would get more attention I hate the national media against our Rockets, screw them.....
You could say the same about most of the posts on this BBS, but we don't just come here for the articles, now do we?
It's alright though. Marty Burns made up for it by putting us 1st. He also spelled Deke's name "Mutbombo". http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/marty_burns/03/03/power.rankings/index.html?eref=T1 Houston Rockets They're wagging their finger Dikembe Mutombo-style at those who predicted their demise without Yao. Mutbombo, the new starting center, played about one-third of his total minutes for the entire season in those three victories last week. And though power rankings don't really mean anything, they are a sort of gauge of opinion regarding who garners the respect in the league at the moment. They can be interesting.
Marc Stein is such a ***. I swear. It is some random douche's opinion but it is not like there are a lot of places to go read about your team. The Blazers were getting so much hype during their 13 game run and the Rockets get blown off. Nobody is talking about the Laker's weak ass schedule lately with the exception of the Mavs(we demolished the Hornets, Nugs, GS, Cle x2, a decent Sac team) but we've won 15 in a row and people act like it's no big deal. Marc Stein and all the other ESPN fags need to get off Lebron and Kobe's nuts and start covering the NBA and its happenings as a whole. 15 in a row? Are you kidding me? End Rant.
So, who are you worried about offending? Fags, or Marc Stein? (***, of course, being an acronym for being a member of the Film Actor's Guild)
Marc Stein is such an idiot... "Another example of how wild, wild, wild this West is: Portland and Houston are the West's only two teams with winning streaks spanning at least 13 games . . . and Yao's injury might mean neither makes the playoffs."
i dont think it has anything to do with being a fan. he just realized that we won 15 straight and climbing the ladder in the west. giving props where props are due.
