Lightning struck our driveway last night. The loudest sound I ever heard... by far! Everything seemed okay but when we got up this AM: 1) water pump switch was burned-- no water til Noon 2) Landline was "unavailable"-- no phone still 3) No cable internet-- came up this afternoon We have one of those basketball goals with the water-filled base. It got dislodged by about 2 feet and we have a small crater in the driveway where it would appear the lightning struck. The sound was deafening. Can't imagine being anywhere near that explosion.
Wow, I'm glad everyone is safe. It could have been very dangerous. I once saw lightning strike a transformer and it blew up like a bomb in purple sparks. We were about a hundred yards away and it was still deafening.
I was home alone when I was in 6th grade, and lightning struck our garage. It was the loudest, scariest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. Ironically, all the lights in the house were off, and when the strike occurred, every single light in the house turned ON. The bulbs actually didn't turn off for like 2-3 hours, just on their own. It was really bizarre.
yeah, at first i thought this was about a date gone wrong when they went from the dark movie theatre to a well lit restaurant.
