What do you think about the Electromagnetic Fields produced by powerlines, and the assumption that it is hazardous to your health? From what I gather, there is no scientific proof that EMF is directly related to cancers, such as Leukemia.
I'm close to buying a house with power lines going across the property, 4.5 acres. The field strenght according to my trusty ghost hunter meter, is a max of 50 mGauss at the lines, and about 4-9 mGauss at the house location.

    Tough call.

How long has the previous family been living in the house. Are they in good health?

It's a home built in 1975, and the original owner had to move due to health issues, which I'm assuming is an age thing. He's going to a home.

I asked my realtor a while back about it. Maybe I'll find out something.

I wouldn't do it. Why take a chance? If you think it worthy of starting a thread to ask about, and I don't blame you, how easy is it going to be to sell that place, should you decide to move later on?

Well, I know that if your kids were going to want to fly kites, it might be harmful. ;)

Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it.
