http://www.clutchfans.net/ http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1410/mike_bibby/ (I merged the existing Mike Bibby thread with this one)
Let's bring in Mike Bibby!!! What do you guys think about the possibility of bringing in Bibby to our team? If they can move Artest to the heat, that'd leave a spot open for Battier on their team (although I love Battier...love doesn't win championships/playoff games...good pg's do!) I think that bringing in Adelman was just move one, and Bibby is move two. This would still allow us a little bit of leniency with the rest of the offseason because Deke is coming back. We're not that far off, and with Mike running things, it'd take alot of pressure off of T-Mac and Yao, because possessions wouldn't necessarily have to go through them, but they can do their thing away from the ball and finish.
Why? The Maloof Brothers apparently don't care about losing fan favorites (see Webber, Divac, Stojakovic, Jackson etc) and they were seriously talking about moving him to Cleveland before the deadline. Battier would be a nice fit for them if they can move Artest because they need guys without character issues and we could throw in V-Span, and a draft pick and whatever else it takes to get it done.
Okay...I feel your sarcasm but for real...I'd rather us delve deeper into getting Mike Bibby than Rashard Lewis or Ron Artest, especially seeing how we'd probably be giving up Shane Battier in the process. We need to remember that Point Guard is our biggest weakness, not the need to get a Ron Artest. Shoot....for everything that Battier brings to the table, Lewis would be bad because he doesn't play D. GREAT OFFENSE but pourous defense and that's what wins championships (I know cliche but ask SA how they win games)
yeah...I know...I just get a chance to look on here occasionally. I'm in the military and I don't always get the time (rarely ever) to write, but I do read some. Between that and taking classes, most of my computer time is spent doing work and I don't get much entertainment. Hell....it took me forever to finally get a myspace up.
My fault then...I just glanced at the board and saw stuff like Kobe, and Lebron, and Artest and Lewis and all kinds of different stuff but I didn't see anything that said Bibby. I guess y'all talked about it and I missed it. MY BAD!!!
What we need to remember is that the reason we're all examining the possibility of Artest and Rashard Lewis is because there are actual articles/news reports claiming that these possible trades are being discussed. There hasn't yet been any published information that we're talking to Sacramento about Bibby, so why even discuss it? That's why people are understandably more interested in discussing Lewis and Artest. Well, that and the fact they already ran this topic into the ground weeks ago.
It does make a little sense though. The Kings are rebuilding. Bibby is getting a little older, so he probably doesn't want to go through rebuilding. He played his best years under Adelman. He can opt out of his contract. We desparately need a pg. I know it's already been beaten into the ground, but you have to admit that it makes some sense.
Bibby is not going to opt out. He is owed 28 million over the next two years and wont get anywhere close to that if he hits free agency. No one ever gives up a signed contract to go out and get much less, which would be the case with Bibby especially after an off year. He wont command the kind of money and years that Lewis and Billups are going to get. And yes, Bonzi goofed, but that was by not signing a deal thinking he could get more, not giving up on guaranteed money like what Bibby still has left.
I gave this thread the benefit of the doubt and 4 Star'd it, for the military reasonings Otherwise yeah, redundant topic.
That's right. Bibby is a great PG but also a great shooter and I think he could make all that open positions for 3. I would love to have him in uor team, but the chances are too small
Let's bring in Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, & Kobe Bryan. I heard that the Rockets can have them in "Hello". The league will also give the Rockets special treatment in CBA because of Yao. We can also have Lamar Odom, Chauncey Billups, & Amare Stoudmare come off bench. The Rockets' dynasty here we go.
