    His age makes him unattractive.

... and I guess that whole choaking his coach, claiming to need $14 million a year to "feed his family," and basically quitting on his team this season would be OK as long as he is only 27

All he has to do is hit open shots, can he do it? I cringe when Wesley shoots.

    So does his face.

If Spree wants to take the veteran minimum to come over here then by all means sign him. I doubt that's going to happen so I would rather see the Rockets use their MLE on a PF.

And that freaking dog-ear hairstyle doesn't help.

Clutch, thanks for posting on all potential candidates. CD, please, no Spree.

WTF? We dont have that many roster spots open to begin with, lets not waste it on someone we will regret in the future.

PASS... give me Chris Duhon and Cuttino Mobley, and draft Simien or hopefully Warrick, and bring over Biadine and Spounilis and I'm and extremely happy man =)

Who needs a cancer? And he is old and barely effective.

JVG will be crazy if he decides to sign Spree. If he does so, I gonna join "JVG has to go" club again.

    Not really.

Spree is what this team does NOT need. Washed up primadonna cancer. The second things don't go his way he's going to quit or go postal. I don't want him on the team at all.

I would absolutely LOVE to have Spree, but only if Wesley is gone. He is a taller, better version of David Wesley, who can slash inside and run the fast break with the best of them.

However, money talks, and that will be the determining factor in the Rockets' decision to acquire him or not.

But again, it better be a sign and trade or something if we will get him, hopefully sending Wesley to Minny in the process.

Spree would be HUGE against teams like Dallas in the playoffs, able to guard guys that killed us by shooting over DW: Stackhouse, or even Finely.

Good work Clutch, I didn't think you would profile him, I thought you would stick with PF profiling throughout the month, and then move on to other positions.

Spree would be on my short list of guards that would fit nicely with our team.

Not that I am particularly looking forward to it, but I expect ot see Spree in Rocket red next year. Mostly for reasons already enumerated by Clutch and a big doze of humility served up to him this past year. On the good side, he fills a definite need whether he starts or comes off the bench. If he still has his legs he is one of the best 2-3's in the business.

BTW, would anyone be interested in Wally Szerbiak, and Cassell because I think the TWolves are going to have a firesale.

The same way that Sheed has been a cancer to the Pistons? I'll take Spree any day.

His age and ego, namely whether he will willingly come off the bench, is a question for me. Sprewell could start, but Sprewell hates playing small forward like he did in New York alongside Alan Houston, and T-Mac likes to play in the backcourt. Sure, with T-Mac and Spree, we'd arguably be playing a three guard set when you include our PG, but on defense Spree won't like having to guard small forwards, assuming that there's no switch by T-Mac and Spree on defense.

Spree could be a super star off the bench, but would he accept that role?

I can't stand Sprewell, plus, he is old and a cancer.

Clutch, even putting Sprewell on your site is a disgrace to our BBS. We don't need another thug like Eddie Griffin on this squad.

Again, he would be ideal in a sign-n-trade for Wesley, you would really lose nothing there. IMO, however, any sign-n-trade for Spree would likely include a guy like Casell in the whole deal, where we would get Spree and Alien and send back DW and some expiring contract.

Frankly though, I would only be interested in Spree, not much interest in Cassell, because I think he is more of a chemistry issue on the court than Spree, he just talks too damn much.

But again, I wouldn't "add" any of them without trading away one or more of our players.

Exactly, people are really worrying too much with the "cancer" or "malcontent" comments, the guy is a proven winner and has toughness/tenaciousness that is desperately needed on our team. We have Sura and James, I wouldn't mind adding another pitbull to the mix, a guy who is a premeir perimeter defender in this league, who is still healthy, and would bring more to the table than DW would. In a trade for DW, he would be a nice addition, but we shouldn't add him unless we get rid of DW.

i guess i'm in the strict minority here but i am a latrell sprewell fan, i think he'd be good on the rockets provided he can bounce back in a new environment to the level he was playing at 2 years ago, even slightly lower.

i like david wesley too though...

in any case, why all the hate for spree? he's a competitor.
