I am not a fan of Walker. I just dont like his game and the fact for him to be sucessful he has to handle the ball as much as he does.
I HATE "twon" as much as you can a person whom you've never met. His game is evrything I don't like about the nba right now IMHO. I woundn't let him on the team if he paid us...
I watched every game Walker played with the Mavs and feel sorry for any team that has him. He is extremely frustrating. He will make 4 or 5 great plays and them will make one of the most boneheaded play ever, usually in a very critical time. You don't want him.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL NO We need a banger and a rebounder at the 4. He's everything we don't need. He's a bad three point shooting, overdribbling, finesse PF who doesn't rebound. Offense is not our problem. Our ideal front court player should compliment Yao and think defense first. Walker is a perfect antithesis of what we're looking for.
Clutch, Puff-puff-give, puff-puff-give 'Toine would be okay if he rebounded and played near the basket, but his shot selection and ball-hog nature wouldn't mesh well with Yao and T-Mac. -P1st, S2nd
I would love to have Walker for the right price on this team. Ultimately, he hasn't been on a team with a strong system and a hard headed coach. I believe he would change his ways. Go for it!
No thanks, especially since SAR, Swift, Chandler, and Marshall could be had for around the same price if not cheaper.
Actually, Walker rebounds very well. He also passes very well...most of the time. Yao would get many dunks with Walker because he can definetly pass. However, Walker's shooting is absolutley horrendous and he doesn't know when to pass up the shot. He will also make a couple of stupid plays late in the game that will kill the team. You have to take the good with the bad.
AW will not be a C in '05 - '06. Isaih will SnT AW, leaving him with Starbury and 11 4's. If Walker were available to Rox 'cheaply', as in MLE or SnT + Blount for DW and expiring contracts, then heck YES. If, and only if, that is.
Is Fatoine talented? Yes. Does our PF position need upgraded? Yes. Would he be an upgrade? Yes. Could JVG control a player like Fatoine? Probably. Does Juwan Howard still have trade value? Yes. All of this amounts to a no-brainer in my eyes if by some chance he would actually settle for the MLE and a reduced role---which is all very unlikely to happen. Let's pretend that happened, we could then key in on trying to deal Howard since Walker-Howard isn't exactly an ideal 1-2 punch, too much offense. Names like Sam Cassell and Kurt Thomas come to mind, I am sure there are others. So basically what I am saying is if Fatoine SOMEHOW decides he wants to be a Rocket and settles for the MLE, we make it happen. After that, deal Howard for whatever.....this is all assuming we draft PF, that leaves us potentially with a PF rotation of Walker-draftee---not bad. This guy certainly isn't ideal and isn't my 1st choice by any stretch of the imagination, but I am just thinking objectively unlike the impression I am getting from most previous responses.
