POST YOUR IDEAS OF POTENTIAL TRADES THE ROCKETS WOULD MAKE. THIS WILL PREVENT EVERYONE FROM CREATING NEW THREADS FOR EVERY NEW TRADE. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY WITH YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT OTHERS HAVE PROPOSED. THIS THREAD IS ONLY TO POST TRADE IDEAS, NOT CRITICIZE THEM.
I suggest we trade Eddie for Kwame Brown. I know what you're thinking. But if you think a little longer, you will realize that it might be a cure for both players. Rockets and Wizards aren't getting anything out of them and they are very similar in stats. Offensively I consider Eddie more of a threat but defensively, he is still too raw. Kwame on the other hand is more by the book and more of a hustler.
griffin/rice(or cato) = shard lewis mobley = kwame(or troy murphy or zach) francis/posey/lewis/kwame(or zach)/ming Shooters= lewis steve = still the pg brand is unrealistic, and lewis would put butts in the seats. I like a francis/posey backcourt better than a Kenny anderson/francis one that all of you are wanting.
I've posted this before but this is the trade I wan to see the Rockets make. Houston trades: Cato, Griffin, and Rice NY trades: Kurt Thomas and Sprewell Trade is accepted under realgm. NY does this deal because they get a solid center and a young PF with potential in Griffin. Plus with Rice's contract running out after one year to go along with McDyess's the Knicks will have some serious $$$ to try and land a free agent. Houston does this deal because they get two veteran players with playoff experince. Kurt Thomas is a legit PF and Sprewell still has some game left and is a good defensive player. Both Sprewell and Kurt Thomas's contracts are up after two years which would allow the Rockets to go after a free agent that year.
Mobley for Brent Barry is pretty good. Sonics don't have a sixth man. Brent Barry's potential is not being used because he's a shooter. Shooters need big men to feed off of and sonics don't have an inside game. Barry would fit perfectly with Rockets. Solid player with good court vision and a pass first instinct. Not to mention he would drain 3's when Yao gets doubled.
Sorry Here's the lineup: PG - Francis, Norris SG - Barry, Hawkins SF - Posey, Boki PF - Taylor, Kwame (but I rather see Taylor as a spark from bench) C - Yao, Cato
Here are the moves I'd like to see (however unrealistic they are): 1st Brand (of course) Houston trades Rice + EG + Tito + Chicago trade obligation to Clippers for Brand and Jaric EG's a relatively cheap contract for the clips and Rice's contract is expiring after this year, which I'm sure Don likes. Next...Barry. Not Jon, but the good one: Houston trades Cat + Moochie + 1st Rounder in '04 to Seattle for Brent Barry + Vladimir Radmanovic + cap filler As for Free Agents, try to resign Posey. If you can't, then try to get the other Barry bro. This could facilitate a move for Steve to the SG (which is for sure happening...according to Doc), since Barry can handle the PG duties VERY well. Also Jaric is a big backup PG (6'7). Our roster would look like this: PG - B. Barry, Jaric SG - Francis, Posey SF - Posey, Nachbar, Vlad PF - Brand, Taylor, Vlad C - Yao, Cato I know it won't happen, but i'd love to see that team on the court.
