It's that special time of year when we post our summer electric bill so we can agonize together and compare. House sq footage: 1972 Bill: $331.48 Company: Gexa Engergy
apt. sq footage 800ish austin energy $68 (not home much stay at my girlfriends often and dont have a tv...do have a pretty powerful pc and large lcd though)
Mine's gonna be really bad. Got the wife a new fridge for our anniversary and she put the old one in our garage, which is like a furnace. No telling how much that thing is costing to run. She was supposed to have sold it by now, but instead it's being used to store stuff she doesn't want in the brand new one. Crazy.
Brutal June. My bill just went from about $190 to $380. 2500 sqft house. Time to start micromanaging that thermostat again.
As most of you know I am in Arkansas. My last bill was in my old house which was 1350 sq. feet. It was $200.36 but that was 1 full bill + 10 days and I was on City Water & Light. I now live in a 2200 sq. foot home with 2 central air conditioning units and am on Craighead Electric which is supposed to charge a lot more than CWL. We'll see when I get that first bill later this month.
2050 sq ft $157.96 for June CoServ I think the highest it got last year was around $230. I'm not looking forward to the rest of the summer's bills...
1600 sq. ft $100 last month $150 this month I'm pretty amazed. I'm renting this house but I'm sure it is at least 30 years old so I was expecting some horrendous electric bills (even with the all the trees surrounding the house). The house I just sold and moved from is only 3 years old and 1900 sq. ft and my electric bills last summer were consistently just over $200 all summer long so I'm sure they would have been at least $50-$75 higher this summer.
3500 sqf 2 story built in 2006 11.1 cents $199.00 this month $102.00 last month I'm relentless when it comes to our NRG usage, nothing stays plugged in even when it's off except for necessary items like the fridge and cable boxes.. A/C stays off when we're not home and it doesn't go below 76 when we are and I've switched ALL our lights to florescent.. I want a pool again, but the cost of running the pumps all day scares me..
1900 sq. feet $108 was the last bill, but we haven't got june's yet. we use txu. i'm ready for december and another $41 bill.
I bet it will be close to $400. Water included which won't be pretty 2100 sq/ft Austin Energy Green energy (which is a little more). Does Houston include water in the Electric bill?
Texans set second summer electric use record on heat Texas set a second all-time electric use record on Monday as blazing heat and a lack of rain kept air conditioners running amid temperatures in the low triple-digit range across the state, according to initial data from the state grid operator. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) said power use at the hour ending at 5 p.m. CDT (2200 GMT) was 63,454 megawatts, surpassing last week's peak-hour record of 62,786 MW. link
