I was listening to the radio and folx
    talking about POST ELECTION depression
    or something . ..

Looking around here the D&D has slowed a bit

but they were talking about people
feeling physically ILL and Couldn't get out fo bed

Is there a Syndrome for everything now?

and does the D&D have it :D

I think it's a bit of an overreaction, but I would believe it.

So many people tried so hard to remove Bush from office. They poured their hearts and souls into campaigning for him, and for many of these people, it was their first time voting or first time being part of a political campaign.

To lose, and lose so closely, is definitely heartbreaking. I know that I had a hard time focusing in school or thinking about anything other than the outcome for a couple days after the election.

But it's not a reason to stop living your life.

If anything, devote yourself to a new campaign to have Bush impeached.

I decided to stay out of the fray in here for several days after the election and after reading some of the posts afterwards I'm glad I did. The pace of posts I had before (I'm no basso :p ) just hasn't picked back up. I am a little depressed about the results and the fact that several friends and some people here are gloating about the outcome has turned me off on the whole national scene big time. At this point I don't give a crap who wants to run in 2008 and probably won't for at least a couple of years. This crap about a mandate and a new direction for America with Falwell, etc is garbage. Falwell and his like make Christians look bad. Period. I have never been so down about the direction of this country as I have been lately. That coupled with the fact that there is nothing I can do about it now except b**** means I have been doubly focused on things I can change in my life. I'm sure there a lot of people that feel the way I do and have disengaged a bit because of it.
Will I re-enter the fray after some time? Probably. But for now I'm going to concentrate on school and myself and my family and let the morons in Washington have their little fun.
I do feel like I am being selfish though. Honestly I wanted to see the country change more for the benefit of others than for myself. National policies don't have a big effect on my life right now. I'm a married white male in his early 30's with a steady job that I have absolutely no chance of losing. I don't get paid much but it is enough to get by. Gas prices are sky high and that cuts into my cash flow as a long distance commuter but don't think that is Bush's fault. I'm in law school at night but that is paid for by loans at incredibly low interest rates with a bit of a kick in from state grants so no big complaints there.
Life for me is pretty good. So my life will not likely change very much with Bush as President. I will just continue the trend I have for the last four years of occasionally catching something the r****ded cowboy said and just laughing at his goofy ass. It's not going to directly affect me very much. But like I said, that's selfish. I know there are people in the world that will be negatively affected by the administration's policies, just as I know there will be people that are affected positively.
Will I still b**** occasionally, you betcha. It's like they say on the Sopranos when something bad happens:
    "What are gonna do?"
I'll just shrug and go about my own business. Or like the big trash can puppet said on Chappelle Show:
    "That why I say F*ck it." :(

    Letdown? How about hootenanny?

I'm just glad the whole damn thing is over with, and I no longer have to have hair-trigger response on my television remote's mute button.

That just shows that stupidity has no party preference.
