Well, the landscape has changed. Now the Rockets, as Morey said, need to go after one or possible two veterans. There are several free agents, but the best way to acquire them is through sign and trade.

My first target is Ricky Davis from Miami. Since we need to shed a few contracts, I think Luther Head and Bobby Jackson's expiring for a re-signed Davis.

Yeah, I'm sure this could go in the "Summertime Random Trade Thread".

Threads like this go out of date, especially with all the new scenarios, so it's time to start anew. When pre-season starts, this one probably will die.

Sorry, thumbs, but Davis is way too much of a knucklehead for my taste.

My first target would be Mike Conley. Memphis has a glut of PGs now, even if they play OJ Mayo at SG: Conley, Javaris Crittenton, Kyle Lowry and Marko Jaric. They need a backup SG, though, and have no depth at all on the front line. As a rebuilding team, I wonder if they'd bite at Head, Hayes, and next year's #1 and #2 for Conley.

If not, then Crittenton could almost certainly be gotten straight up for Head and they might even be willing to toss in a future #2. He's not as good a PG as Conley, but is tall at 6'5" and we might be able to groom his as a solid backup.

Since Mike Miller has already been traded. I would go after Jamaal Crawford.
Give NY Bobby Jackson and Luther Head. It'll will give NY some cap flex ability
and we get that third scorer.

I don't particularly like it, but it's a very realistic trade and it works for both teams pretty fairly...

I'd go first for Crittendon but would settle for Kyle Lowery. However, you'd better pony up something a lot sweeter than Luther Head. They just got O.J. Mayo to pair with Conley in the backcourt, and their front court is looking good with Rudy Gay (SF), Marc Gasol (C) and Darko Milicic (PF).

This method would allow us to save our MLE for someone else, but we could also use the MLE to go after Davis.

I think Davis is a perfect fit. He used to be knuckle-head'ish, but hasn't done anything like that in a while, and is more than anything a scorer, which is what we need.

this gets my vote. walsh has said he'd like to move all of their big contracts for cap space and start over.

this is very realistic, but i think morey has his mind set on holding on to jackson's contract until the deadline.

He's also a much better defender than he gets credit for. Also, I don't think he would cost us the full MLE if we went that acquisition route.

Not sexy, but I'll take it. He would take a load off of McGrady, he can play a bit of point guard I believe too.

How about Luther Head for Shawne Williams. He has some off-court problems but he's still a good contributer off the bench.

we have tremendous lack of crack smoking activity on this team. davis or crawford would fill the void nicely.

Yes, but it involves mushrooms and/or peyote.

    Hayes for Crittenton straight up.

Dorsey will probably end up replacing Chuck, right down to the ft shooting, and I like Crit's size and the way he slashes.

And Memphis looks pretty thin upfront, and could probably use a quality defensive big on a light contract.

Conley is close to untouchable, from what I hear.

Nash is like Kidd -- aging, expensive and wedded to another team.

If by "looking good" you mean "losing 55 games," then you're right!

That first string is new and is taller and more athletic than our current first string.

Being new isn't a indicator of being good.

    Shane 6'8 Gay 6'8" (0 inch change)
Yao 7'6" Gasol 7'1'" (-5 inches for Grizzlies)
Scola 6'9" Darko 7'0"(+3 inches for Grizzlies)

Grizzlies lineup is 2 inches shorter and pure crap. Their frontline is gonna get tore up by most teams.
