I assume we still need a backup PG. We could run point center with Sengun but a veteran to guide these young bloods would be nice. Looks like Boban will likely stay and give some Landry’s commercials. Mathews will continue to play the big brother 6th man, I wouldn’t be opposed to trading KMJ for a young upside center if he really wants out of here so bad. Modest wish list: Rubio as a coach on the floor one year deal potentially setting him up to retire in our coaching staff. The problem will be convincing him to go in that direction instead of being a backup in Dallas or another playoff hopeful. Jalen Smith or Mo Bamba on 3 year deals. Really depends on the front office and their timeline and if we keep Boban, but a defensive rebounding big would really compliment Sengun in the rotation.
Sengun/Garuba/Boban Smith/Tate/Nwaba Gordon/KMJ/Eason Green/Christopher/Mathews KPJ/Nix/TyTy If Boban is cut, then a center is needed. Any other signings depend on trades, particularly at SF with Eric Gordon and Kenyon Martin Jr.
I can’t say I watched Hartenstein last year but his advanced stats really ramped up big time. Other posters have said his skill set works much better than Bamba…who I also didn’t watch a ton of. If Hartenstein is much more polished version of what he was in Houston originally then he could be a perfect fit. Nic Claxton is also another interesting big to look at but he’s restricted
Usman Garuba made Damian Jones look like a god against him. He should never be played as a center. Ever. The end.
I think right now backup center is the only „need“. A guy like Mo Bamba could do wonders as a floor spacing rim protector. The question really is: do we try to compete this year or enter the Wemba-sweepstakes? But overall our roster seems set. I see us being at least 2 deep at every position (outside of backup c). KPJ / TyTy / Nix Green / Christopher / Gordon Tate / Eason / KMJ Smith / Eason Sengun / Garuba /Boban without Gordon and Boban, would this be the youngest team in the NBA?
