Here is a quote from Can T-Mac rock the Rockets?

    By Chad Ford
    ESPN Insider:

The entire article can be read in the Sticky thread "McGrady To Houston Thread (Update: Francis will visit Orlando)" page 66

Mostly just dream casting I know but if the Bulls really do want him and they also want to get rid of Tyson then I say jump. Hell I would even package something with it like a draft pick. If Chicoga was really enterested in Howard then you would think something could be worked out.

Chandler is doable. But to throw Hinrich in for the heck of it is a little too farfetched.

I wouldn't mind throwing in Boki and a future 1st rounder in the deal (if required).

Th bulls will try to unload eddi robinsons contract on us i have no doubts about that!. Chandler is a pipe dream as is Hinrich!. likely Case is JYD plus Eddie Robinon for howard!

I think most rocket's fans would take just hinrich for howard....and feel like their team got a steal.

Eddie Robinson or Jerome Williams are probably the only players Chicago will give up for Howard.

Minnesota may give up Ervin Johnson or possibly Wally.

crash- Think about what you proposed...A 31 year old, solid but not spectacular PF, for a 21 year old former #2 pick, plus a ~23 year old top 10 pick PG.

Forget about even touching Hinrich with a package based on Juwan Howard. The Bulls may have wanted him last summer-since then, they've acquired Antonio Davis and Jerome Williams.

You're not going to even touch Chandler unless you take on Eddie Robinson, or at the least Jerome Williams or Antonio Davis.

Once we get Howard, we can't package players with him unless we do it immediately (it's either 3 days or 2 days, off the top of my head) or we wait for 2 months.

If you want another tall PG option, we could potentially work a sign and trade for Jamal Crawford based on Howard for Williams plus the TE for Crawford. But I don't see Crawford as much more of a PG than Francis, and my guess is the Rockets don't see him as a PG either- especially not a 7mill a year one.

Chandler (if healthy) can be very productive at PF. With a combo of Chandler, MoT, and Griffin (if we sign him), can really help this squad out.

Hinrich at point w/ Fisher (if we sign him) starting would be awesome. We can just get rid of Lue or trade his ass along w/ Howard.

It depends on how much they want Howard. Tyson Chandler has obviously fallen out of favor with the Bulls Management, and I don't think they'd mind adding some veteran leadership to that front court. I think Houston could get Chicago to bite on a Chandler deal & maybe even take Jamal Crawford off their hands. Crawford seems like the odd man left out in Chicago with them having Gordon and Heinrich there. I think Howard, Nachbar, and a future first would be enticing if Houston agreed to use the trade exception to take Jerome Williams or Robinson off their hands. This would give Chicago the PF they wanted last off-season, plus a young SF to learn behind Scottie Pippen in his final season. Who knows, stranger things have happened.

Chandler (by crazy NBA standards) will eventually become a max player (gag), and so the Rocket's won't be able to afford him.

If we get AD, I'll puke.

    HE'S TOO OLD!!!!!!!!!!

Davis is paid a boat load, but his contract only last for two more years.

I don’t think it would be that bad an idea to rent him for the next two years (@12mil per). He’s still capable of being a 12/10 player. Hopefully in two years the Rockets can find a permanent replacement for him. I’d prefer that over paying Howard 6.5 mil for the next 5 seasons.

A Glen Rice-like contract is better than a Moochie-like contract.

Exactly, robbie380. That's all I needed to see to know this was pure made-up BS.

    NIKEstrad,

I have no illusions of Howard for Chandler and Hinrich strait up.

I would be estatic if we could get either but the Bulls have made it very clear that they are more than willing to part with Chandler. Throwing in Hinrich was more or less just my own wet dream. I would be more than happy to take one of Chi's bad contracts along with Tyson for Howard though.

why would chicago give up hinrich???? who would play PG for them then??

i don't understand why chicago would ever give up hinrich for a guy like howard, with a huge contract. i wouldn't give up chandler for that, either...at least with chandler there's the possibility of upside..you don't get that with howard.

Ben Gordon, the PG that they just drafted. Although I agree with you, Hinrich in nearly untouchable for Chicago.

I'd love for us to trade Howard to CHI, if they're still interested. I don't think that CHI wants more young players, though. They just added Gordon and Deng in the draft, so they don't need Boki, and I'd rather keep him, to see if he turns out.

They do need veterans, though. Its obvious that Curry, Chandler and Crawford are on their way out, but I think that Hinrich is part of their long-range plans, unless they decide to use Gordon at the point. I wouldn't want Crawford. He reminds me too much of Mobely, without the defense. Athletic, but not smart, and I don't think he'd want to play second fiddle to TMac.

I'd also love to get Chris Duhon in the deal, their second round pick.

So, the trade I'd like to see happen is Howard/future#1 for Chandler/Duhon. If we had to take back ERob as part of the deal, using our TE, I'd do that too.

Chandler would be a great investment in the future, but I don't see him as our starting PF. We need someone who is a banger. Cato functioned well in that capacity for us. Do you remember how much we lost when Cato was out of the lineup? I don't think Howard will cut it, or Chandler. So, if Howard is critical to getting a trade for a better PF somewhere else, I'd choose that over Chandler, as much as I believe he has "potential."
