if we want to sign swift, it looks like we will have to take wells or williams. is it possible that memphis would want to trade for anything we have? having swift and wells added to the lineup would be great. now that we got these players through a sign and trade... we can go out and spend our full mle on a point guard like AD.

    FA/span
    wells/barry/draft
    tmac/barry/draft
    swift/howard
    yao/deke

If we could get both Bonzi and Swift in a trade I would be estatic. I don't think we would have the players to get them though.

Looks like you're assuming Mike James, Bob Sura and David Wesley will all be a part of that trade, along with Spoonman?

If the Grizz want to package Wells or Williams WITH at S&T Swift then that means the Grizz will have to find a team that will give the Grizz around 16M salary back (or find a team under the cap to absorb that salary).
Assuming the Grizz want to CUT payroll, why would they want to absorb 16M salary back?

Expiring contracts maybe + draft pick? If that's the case then JWill would make more sense as someone they would want to package Swift with, cuz I believe Bonzi only has one more year if the Grizz pick up his option.

The way you get Swift and Wells or Swift and Williams to the Rockets is by finding an EC team that would love expiring contracts and has a player or two MEM would appreciate. IMHO, MEM won't deal with us straight up, but the 3rd team throws the door wide open because Swift is unrestricted.

With Grizz' purported financial woes they'll deal with anyone IMHO. But, why allow an expiring contract be replaced with one more year contracts? referring to Bonzi and Swift. Unless they get major return, like a player and the riddance of J-Will's contract, why not allow those other two to walk?

T-mac is best friends with Mike Miller. At least one of his best friends in the NBA. They were really close in Orlando.

Here is the question: Do we really want to do deals with Jerry West?

When you do deals with the LOGO....9 times out of ten he getting or got the best of the deal. If he's wanting one of our players (unless it's for cap relief.) I would rethink that damn trade lol. Anywho.....i doubt if he trades within the division period.

I agree. It seems like Logo always comes out ahead in trades. Though, I wouldn't necessarily rule it out based on that alone.

His logoness isn't what he used to be. When was the last time he pulled off a big deal. And what about that Brian Cardinal signing. He's locked up for the full MLE for 5 more years and he's sitting on the bench as a 5th string forward. The Logo is slipping.

I would love to deal for Swift and Wells, but I don't see West dealing us our missing pieces (PF + athletic SG), especially since we'll be battling for playoff positions for the next 5+ years.

I would love to get Stromile on our team, but Williams doesn't seem like a JVG guy and Wells is a cancer wherever he goes. His me first attitude is not what this team needs, although he is a good scorer
