At this point I really don't think there are going to be any trade options for the Rockets. With serious charges being filed, no team is going to come anywhere near him until they know he is going to be back. I think the Rockets are stuck with him and are just going to have to deal with a totally unproductive draft for that year.

It's too bad Eddie is an idiot and did this because Brent Barry is now on the block in Seattle with the emergence of Ronald Murrey. Too bad, so sad. Thanks for nothing Eddie.

EG will be shipped to Huntsville, before he gets traded anywhere.

I think it is safe to say that all of the Rockets trade options for EG have definitly gone out the window. I don't think there is any team willing to trade for a player who's average at best and one of the more underachieving players in the league. Let alone a player who has zero heart or motivation to get better, emotional issues, off the court problems (i.e. drugs, irresposibly fathering childeren) and now a felony charge for assult with a deadly weapon.

I'm sure there is about a half dozen or so teams clawing at CD just to get a hold of Griffin.

Eddie Griffin will probably be cut straight up. However, if he's not, look for him to go to Memphis. The word on the street is Griffin for Stromile Swift. But yes, that was before today's news. We all know how Jerry West loves to toy with potential. Maybe he thinks he just good enough to turn Griffin around. Swift and Griffin are pretty much interchangeable. Griffin will probably never get in Van Gundy's favor and Swift has fallen out of Hubie Brown's ten man rotation. Both are free agents at season's end. I think it is a reasonable deal for both sides. And yes, it is Real GM certified if anyone was wondering...

Houston trades: Eddie Griffin ( ppg, rpg, apg in minutes)
Houston receives: PF Stromile Swift (8.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.7 apg in 20.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +8.9 ppg, +4.9 rpg, and +0.7 apg.

Memphis trades: PF Stromile Swift (8.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.7 apg in 20.7 minutes)
Memphis receives: Eddie Griffin ( ppg, rpg, apg in games)
Change in team outlook: -8.9 ppg, -4.9 rpg, and -0.7 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Houston and Memphis being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Memphis had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Indeed. Drugs can fry your brain and post implausible trade scenarios.
