Maybe Aaron Brooks can be our late 4th Quarter weapon, when the opposition team is dead tired, he can run them out of the gym?

The opposition will be so use to our 1st 3 quarters of slow half court offense. And then bring in Mighty Mouse to blaze them out of the game.

Not a terrible idea but who do we play at point for the first 3 quarters. Rafer needs to take breaks and Head can't play PG. I would also prefer to see McGrady and Barry playing off the ball.

I think Brooks is good for 10-20 mpg, depending on how both he and Rafer are playing as well as the matchups.

From what I see, the offense gets better shots when Brooks is in the game. That's because he creates with his speed and makes things happen. Whereas, Rafer is better at running set plays. However, the Rockets look VERY rusty and unpolished when it comes to the set plays.

I think it all boils down to how the game is going and the matchups. A decision like this is Adelman's specialty. Hopefully, the Rockets start executing Adelman's true offense better than what they're showing now

Start Brooks...if Rafer continue to jack up missing shots and does literally nothing.

I think he can add that spark off the bench a lot like Mike James did in 05 playoffs

brooks really injected energy into our squad. He's like a bobby jackson. I love it! I don't think he should start though just because they'll go at him in the post and he'll get into foul trouble and the fact that Rafer is by far a better defender and is better at running the team.

Brooks can go in there and create for himself and others. I love it. He's the perfect 6th man aka bobby jackson role.

The "hot hand" will play in the 4th quarter between AB and Rafer. If Rafer continues shooting 21%, expect AB to finish a lot of games while Rafer watches from the bench.

I think that RA is slowly getting Aaron Brooks more invloved obviously. I bet if Skip continues to struggle, and Aaron plays the way he has been playing, Aaron Brooks could very well be our starting point guard in a month or so...

we have to play big v. certain teams like utah or lakers b/c those teams can go big and we cannot play brooks.

however, brooks will have a major role on this team. no doubt about that. rafer's mins might go down to 24-25 real soon.

Starting Aaron Brooks is pointless when McGrady will have the ball in his hands. Brooks is at his best when he isn't deferring to anyone and attacking the basket. He and Brent Barry are really developing some nice chemistry together.

Bring him off the bench but let him close out games when you want all of our weapons on the floor.

I think is best used when he can exploit a slower pg like Jason "Jet" terry. Matchups that favor him, will exploit their defense.

I'm surprised by the reasonable assessment of Brooks. Expected to see a "Start AB!" somewhere :)

I think it'll the hot hand that finishes games between Brooks and Rafer, but Brooks will probably get his late game minutes regardless if he keeps this up. Though Brooks at times can be too uni-speed with his play. Sometimes ball control and heady defense is needed late instead of relentlessly dive-bombing into the opponent.

Not like Jason Terry's that slowed down. Brooks is just THAT quick ;)

I think Brooks is a better shooter than Rafer as well though. The way things are going right now, by midseason Brooks is going to be a better overall player than Rafer in every facet outside of defense. If he isn't already. That play where Brooks dished it to Morey, I was progressively shouting out, "BROOKS! LANDRY!!!

    MOREYYYY!!!!!.

Even if Brooks is a better player than Rafer, you guys may be right in saying his best role is off the bench as a change of speeds to jolt the other team. Adelman has been looking for that sparkplug since the beginning with the Rockets. Looks like we found the guy that fits the profile.

I was really impressed with Brooks this game. He made a couple mistakes here and there but overall he was pretty solid. And that switch-handed layup past Dirk late in the game was a thing of beauty.

Give this guy some minutes and let him do whatever he wants. If he strays too far from the gameplan, let him know. Until then, we need him out there because he's fast enough to break down the defense and he's a pretty good finisher. Again, that layup past Dirk really and truly was a thing of beauty. Not to mention it seems like he's been working on his range.

He should be our starter over Rafer who made a couple of bad passes last two games and bricked about all his shots. Sure he might play D better than Brooks right now but you have to be blind to not see that our team plays better with him in.

Brooks was really impressive today, in just 19 minutes he contributed 14 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and just 1 turn over. Those are pretty much SF3 numbers...AB looked really sharp for a cat that was supposed to be out for 3 weeks.

I think he'd be a really great starter, we can expect 12 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists from him on a nightly basis, given the playing time.

    One helluva line up:

    5- Yao
    4- Scola
    3- Artest
    2- McGrady
    1- Brooks
