Bad trade for Orlando. Miller's a step down and Dwight wants an all-star sidekick, not a role playing rookie.

Otis Smith is turning into the king of random lateral move trades. No vision at all.

Im not sure whether to like this or not...It could mean the parker deal is dead, which is good for Houston, but it could also mean they're acquiring jameer only to ship him to SA. Jameer+batum in San antonio?

Man Otis Smith is looking more incompetent every day. He trades for older players who are on their last legs.

I think Orlando knows Dwight is leaving and trying to clear their cap bit by bit.

The writing is on the wall that Howard leaves. The Magic have:

-no cap room in the foreseeable future
-no players of real value to trade
-no player on their team that's All-Star caliber other than Howard

lol i could have sworn i just watched a video of Dwight talking about how much better they are with jameer being healthy. Sounded like he really likes him. So much for that. Come to H-town Dwight. CLEE won't be just another asset once you're here.

I agree that it would be a bad trade for the Magic, but rumor is the Magic view Miller just as a more attrative trade chip to teams such as Atlanta (Josh Smith) and Philly (Iggy) than Jameer Nelson due to Miller's fully unguaranteed conctract.
That's why Orlando seems to be willing to pull the trigger.

I don't see anything wrong with this trade for either team. Jameer is a scoring pg. He's at his best when he gets to dominate the ball. He can't do that with Hedo and Dwight needing the ball. Andre on the other hand is old but not on his last legs. His game doesn't require youth or athleticism. He played well last season and is one of the best alley-oop passers in the game which compliments dwight perfectly. Add to that, he's an expiring contract vs the two extra years for Jameer on a team with one of the highest payrolls. They are at least giving themselves a little bit of wiggle room when Dwight leaves.

The Magic have no choice now but to take the full gamble with Arenas and start him. This means Nelson needs to go, they dont have anyone else on their roster with they can anything helpfull in return.

They need front court help the most, Bass and Anderson are both back-ups at best and they dont have anyone behind Howard.

I don't have a problem with the Andre Miller part of the compensation. I just think #21 is a little paltry. If Portland could offer some young potential that was a little more robust than #21, I think it'd be fair.

I seriously don't understand y Andre miller continues to get traded. He is a good pg and every team he is on seems to play great when he is on the floor

LOL what are you talking about? This is a great trade for both teams actually. Its lateral in terms of talent, but Miller would fit in with DH much better as he's a better defender than Jameer. This would allow a backcourt of Miller and Arenas, whereas Nelson and Arenas wouldn't be able to coexist.

Miller isn't on his last legs at all, his game is more of a mental thing rather than speed and explosiveness. Nelson seems to be a tad overrated to me, he's not a good defender and neither is he a premier pg, he's like a poor man's Tony Parker. The pick is a nice fodder, this draft is LOADED with low ceiling, low floor guys. They'll be able to get quality depth.
