Looks like Portland as of today has played four more games than Houston ie 63 vs 59. That figures in somehow.......doesn't it?

Yes, it means they have a less hectic schedule going forward.

Let's not ignore that we're 4 games out. We need to win 4 of the next 5 to have a chance.

Last season, we beat the blazers and passed the 1st round. This season, I believe the rockets will take over the blazers' current 8 seed and make the playoffs.

    kings, wolves, pistons, wizards, nets

honestly the rockets need to win at least 4 if not all 5 of of those games to stand a chance the following week they have denver, memphis, boston

then a stretch of 5 games in 7 nights

they can do it but they need to first win the next 2 weeks by then ariza and lowry should be healthy and probably can compete against some of the upper teams in the nba

I am good with whatever happens. The season has been a success...the team showed their heart, talent and professionalism by playing well without Yao. They unloaded the albatross and got a great young talent and picks and pieces for future trading while also getting under the luxury tax. If they make the playoffs, awesome. If they get in the John Wall lottery, if only a 1% chance, that's cool, too.

Portland has 9 patsies and 10 playoff teams left on their schedule. Assuming they go 9-10, the Rockets would need to go 17-6 to beat them.

I'm going to say the odds are REALLY, REALLY bad.

Agreed, minus the John Wall part of the lottery. I like them being in the lottery but don't care about John Wall specifically, just a good pick or trade.

We are done. We do not have a Hakeem to go with our Clyde. But next year, all bets are off.

    Portland's next 5 games,
    Indiana
    Denver
    Sacramento
    Golden State
    Sacramento

They'll probably go 4-1 or 5-0 depending on which Denver team show's up

Yeah agreed, i don't necessarily wan't to win the lottery, I just want a high enough pick to able to draft Hassan Whiteside, or any of the other high potential big men in this upcoming draft.....

We won't pass the Blazers with Roy, Camby and Batum; they will be a playoff team. But I'd say we still have a chance with the Thunder winning 46-47 games. They have a pretty hard schedule.

If the rockets can win next 5 games (i.e., kings, wolves, pistons, wizards, nets), I bet that people on this board will feel different.

OKC needs to drop, that's our spot. I think they will wilt in the end. Other teams are going to stay ahead of us.

I don't see them dropping, they're to damn talented, specially with their MVP candidate, Durant, taking over games late....

Lets just take it a night at a time. Kings giving OKC a fight, it's not like those other teams are 10 games ahead in the L column. So Portland is not the only team we are competing agains.
