Well, Today is a red banner day at the ole DaDakota household. My 2 year old had his first Poo Poo in the potty. Our first one took 3 and 1/2 years to get fully potty trained, we are hoping missile number 2 is much quicker. Of course we had a HUGE Poo Poo potty Party for him....to show him how important and momentous it is... Hopefully he will catch on.....Diapers are a pain in the bleep ! DD
Post it on ratemypoo.com and let us be the judges. Or you could just let the kid show certain people with... ummm, intestinal problems... how it's supposed to work. (just taking this conversation where it's bound to wind up anyway)
Outstanding!!! Congrats! You;ve graduated from cleaning dirty diapers (which you could throw away) to dirty underwear! It's a mixed blessing!
No no...this is just the first....still have the pee pee to deal with..... Been through it once...just hoping it is a little shorter timespan this time. DD
My daugher was potty trained at 2. My son is going on 3 (april) and just doesn't want to make the effort. I'm trying not to pressure him but I'm tired of changing (and buying) diapers. Congratulations.
Same thing with my first born...he was doing ok, and pooping in the potty but pee was still in a pull up. Then one day in the super market a 4 year old saw the pull ups sticking out the top of his jeans and said out loud "mommy look that boy is still a baby because he is wearing diapers" My son went ASHEN, and said to his mom "I am not a baby" and my wife said "Well, big boys don't wear diapers and go pee pee and poop in the potty" He never wore a diaper again. DD
A friend of mine was just telling me about how her older brother was "potty trained" at 6 months. His grandmother was visiting and decided he could be potty trained so every time he started making that straining gotta-go face she would sit him up on the toilet. Of course, I'm not sure it counts since he was too little to get to the toilet on his own. It probably saved them quite a bit on diapers though.
Mrs Valdez, 6 MONTHS? I don't know about that, sounds like a massive exxageration. You sure a dirty sanchez was not involved? DD
6 months sounds a bit too early to me too but she said he couldn't crawl yet and she's done her pediatric residency, I'm sure she knows when baby's usually start crawling. She did say she wouldn't recommend it, learning to poop on a toilet early hasn't given her brother any discernable edge in life. On the subject of diaper costs, has anyone tried and managed to stick with cloth diapers? A friend with three young boys is a big advocate of them. At the moment it's tempting since the dirty diaper of a 1 month old isn't too bad and disposables aren't cheap.
