Asuming that both Yao and T-mac are healthy and had reached their peaks together, will they end up being a successfull duel once accomplished by Shaq and Kobe?

Best one two punch in the league for a long time, Back to Back to Back rings, and a loss in the Finals? Wow, that's pretty tough, well Yao and Tracy ever reach HoF status together and average 50+ points, 18+ rebounds, 8+ assists a game? I don't think they achieve as much statistically as Shaq and Bryant did, but rings aren't out of the question, it's going to be fun to watch though.

Another example of the overrating of chemistry. Shaq and Kobe won 3 championships, and were a highly succesful duo even when they didn't, that's with them hating each other from day one.

Both players are really good, but I just think people need to lower their expectations. Look at the Astros, and look at anything good that we've had high expectations for.

Now, im not saying that they wont be great, because they have potentional; but I know Houston, and I know Houston needs to lower their expectations.

No way. I don't think Yao's English will ever be good enough to publically bash Kobe, oops TMac, like Shaq did.;)

I really dont think that you can compare baseball to basketball. In baseball you can completely stray away from the opponent's strength by walking the league's best hitter, whereas, basketball you can't. Frequently, in basketball the league's most dominant player (if they have a good supporting cast) will take their team to the championship (ie. Kobe, Shaq, Tim Duncan). The exception to this rule is when a team plays so well as a whole that it cancels out the best player/(s) (ie. Pistons). How many times have we seen Barry Bonds (the MLB equivalent of Shaq) win it all?

So to you it's a stupid question because of chemistry?
