Simple question. Keep in mind that guys like LeBron and DWade are worth much more than a max deal, but that doesn't mean others aren't also worth the max.

No way Wade is worth more than max contract. He's like what 28?. He probably only has around 2 or 3 years left in him as a top tier superstar.

He's the only one on this list with a ring.

2-3 years, you say that so off hand as if its no big deal. That's 2-3 years of having one of the best NBA of the past 6 years. He's not just "top tier" as you say so run-of-the-mill, he'll be remembered was one the best there ever was for modern basketball. People forget about him because his team is terrible and he's single handledly carrying them at the moment.

You're damn right he's worth more than a max contract. I only see one other player on that list that's better than Wade and that guy doesn't even have a championship. When Wade was his age, he'd already gotten one.

From a per-year salary standpoint, everyone except for JJ and Boozer. Obviously, Dirk and Amare aren't worth giving a 6 year extension for.

Also, Dirk's max is higher than other maxes. So even if he resigns for less-than-max, he could still get more money than Lebron.

Wade, Dirk, LeBron, and maybe Bosh...I like Bosh, but max? I know we have needs but damn, that's a lot for someone at his position...The first three, no brainers, would sign in a heartbeat...

He'll still be a decent player in three years, even if he's not a superstar

The more interesting question is if these players are worth building the team around. They are probably all worth the max (with maybe only JJ and Boozer falling short), but not all of them are good enough to be the cornerstone of a contender. That more selective list is likely: James, Wade, Nowitzki.

Rashard Lewis is earning the max. Enough said, I still couldn't vote for Boozer though.

Dirk, Wade, and James for sure

Amare has not had the chance yet, not sure if he is capable of carrying a team, but probably falls just short

Bosh has proven incapable of doing so, Boozer is clearly no more than a good #2

Using that logic, I should get a $10 million a year contract in the NBA because Eddy Curry has one and I've had a similar impact on NBA games over the last two years to him.

depends on what you mean by max contract

is its just max amount of money the player can receive or max amount of money AND max amount of years

if its money and years then only lebron, wade, bosh and amare are deserving

    if its just max money

then the four above and dirk

The max is capped. So just because Wade and Joe Johnson can both make the max doesn't mean they are equal in value - but more importantly, it doesn't necessarily mean they don't both deserve the max. Back in the day MJ could make 30mil a year.

    James, Wade, and Nowitzki.

Joe Johnson getting a max deal is almost as bad Rashard Lewis having one.

If LebBron's actual value is about 50 mill, then all these guys minus Boozer and maybe Johnson are probably worth the max.
