It's probably time for a consolidation trade. So who's on the table? Young guys only poll.

    Luka got traded.
    Fox got traded.
    Anthony Davis got traded

No one on this mid ass team should be safe.
Even more so if Giannis is available. I tried to tell y’all that this roster is so limited and the ceiling isn’t as high as you think it is. You can’t go anywhere without an elite offensive talent. That whole sometimes me, sometimes you BS sounds cute and works in the reg season but in the playoffs, no chance.

anyone except for Amen is expendable…but I’d also like to keep Jabari and Reed Sheppard just to see if he can develop into something worthwhile…the potential he has as a shooter could be valuable

everyone else could go and I wouldn’t blink twice

literally all of them. As much as we like to fool ourselves our "Core 7" has nothing resembling a star. The one with the most big superstar performances disappears whenever it's important, and the "all star" struggled to score 15 for years. We need a real star to lead the team, anybody can go so that we can get one.

Wholesale changes to a young core after their first playoffs is a great first step to mediocrity. There's something to be said about continuity and building chemistry - the intangibles.

That being said, if I'm Stone, I'm offering up Jalen and this year's PHX pick (as long as it isn't top 3) and see what I can get. Jalen has been mostly off than on but his 38 point playoff game and decent second half of the season likely will have someone willing to bet on him.

I voted Jalen, Cam, and Tari. The rest are keepers. You do not give away a 22 year old Sengun who's mostly played well in this series. Amen needs to develop a jumper and better handles, but he's the 2nd best player from the 2023 draft. Jabari was critical to this team's success. They went 40-17 this season when he played. And Reed is someone I may eventually be ok with trading, but we've gotta see first what he's capable of. He looked really good down the stretch once he'd gotten more accustomed to the NBA level of competition.

This team doesn’t have a player that should be considered off limits.

    Jalen for sure.
Cam and Reed for good assets is also ok. I just don't see them getting any real chances under Udoka, so it's a waste anyway.
I am a bit hesitant on Tari, depends on what we get in return I guess.
For Bari, it depends on how much he wants for his contract. I definitely want to keep him.
Sengun and Amen are not on the table.

That's what pisses me off though. It's the thought of trading away guys not because they're busts or didn't play well, but because they were never given a chance in the first place.

I voted Jalen and Tari. Cam I think we need to give more run and potentially trade next trade deadline if he isn't figuring stuff out.

It’s fine to say that the team doesn’t have a solidified star. Dosent mean everyone should be available.
The team is solid but it’s missing key spots.

    1. a PG, obviously FVV won’t be here for the future. We are seriously lacking a true playmaker especially when we don’t have **** creators except for sengun and Thompson running full speed ahead.

    2. a scoring guard, we need someone to take over games, Jalen green is not that guy. Adding a perimeter star would open up the others game tremendously.

    3. sengun, amen, Jabari I would like to keep these 3. Sengun is a very good player that can only get better, I can see him improving his game and his close shots with dedication. Same with Amen Thompson. Jabari for all his early day criticism has been a professional through it all. Trading a 6’10 forward that can rebound, shoot and play defense is a perfect complimentary piece to a championship, he will only get better.

    4. the bench, I have no idea what’s gonna happen with Cam and Reed. Tari has been serviceable.

    5. we have a lot of draft capital and young players. I don’t think we will be drafting anyone depending on our pick spot. We can bundle together for pieces that help overall without having to give up too much.

Giannis’s name gets tossed a lot recently, but I don’t think he’d be the answer. We have a lot of players that fill in that PF spot. Jabari, tari, sengun

Not a great example, tbh. It’s not like the Mavs got better.

I'll tell you exactly what will happen. They will trade Jalen, Reed, Cam, Aaron Holiday, and all of the Suns' picks for Devin Booker. They'll kick the tires on Giannis and others, but ultimately the Suns will return the greatest value for their own picks relative to what we have to give up.

Fred will be resigned at a lower annual salary for more years. Steven Adams will be resigned too. Ime will not give up any of his darlings.

They will run it back with the assumption that swapping Green for Booker, plus another year of seasoning for Amen, Sengun, Bari, and Tari, will put them over the top. However, it won't be enough to defeat OKC, Cleveland, or Boston unless Amen turns into Lebron or Tari becomes Kawhi. You just have to hope that the tax/second apron rips those other teams apart.

Tell me what I’m getting back. :p

Jalen Green: it’s a dead horse at this point :D … Could go on to have a nice career, maybe even a slight (<30%) chance the Rockets regret moving on but it’s probably not gonna happen here. (Whether that’s this offseason or in 2 years)

Alperen Sengun/Amen Thompson: one is an all-star (even if in “name only” or “someone had to get it because we were 2nd at the time). We think the other is gonna be an all-star (if not more)? One’s offensive, one’s defensive. But neither can shoot. You just can’t play two non-shooters. Which are you more confident in getting a shot? I’m not confident in either. I guess give the edge to Amen. (Not terrible from the corners; 8/17 left corner, 12/37 right corner). And all the complaints about FT shooting, everyone has taken turns missing but these are your two main culprits.

If you think he’s just at best Domantas Sabonis, you probably sell super high. If you think he’s just Shawn Marion or a “6’7 Westbrick”, you probably sell super high. All good players but certainly not “off limits”. So keep both for now but might have questions long term.

(Side note: Amen has been a low key disappointment this series with none of the blame. Yes, he’s in his 2nd year and first playoff series but it’s the first playoff series for all these guys with the obvious exception of Fred/Dillon/Steven. If you asked before the playoffs, who is the one “guaranteed” to show up or play well or “I’m not worried about him”, I probably would’ve picked him so he’s been a bit of a disappointment for me.)

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Jabari Smith Jr: Keeping him. Not because I think he’s a star or future star but whether it’s the current iteration or a future iteration (where I don’t know, they trade for a star), he theoretically fits any lineup.

Reed Sheppard: not enough data but I’m keeping for now.

Tari Eason: sorry, CF overvalues “heart & hustle” … still a role player. Honestly might be most expendable. … Remember more than a few years ago when “we” (not that we had a say) wouldn’t trade Tucker for Jimmy Butler?)

Cam Whitmore: Part of me would like to see what he could do, given consistent time but part of me says he’s a black hole, ME player. How can I get mine? Go 1-on-3, 1-on-4. You see him play 12 minutes, score 16 points, it’s like damn! We kept him glued to the bench?! And then when his shot is not falling, ok, why is this guy out there? Definitely has no future here under an Ime Udoka-led Rockets team. Likely expendable.

I like these guys, but I voted for all of them. None of them can lead a contender, and I don't think any of them can be the second best player on a contender. Hell I don't know if they could be the third best player on a contender. I think Amen and Sengun have the brightest potential futures if they can fix the glaring holes in their games. I also question whether we get the benefits of Sengun if we get another star to run the offense through. For example, if we got Giannis I imagine Sengun's offensive role would become way more limited.

It depends entirely on who they are trading for. Huge difference in who I'd give up for Durant as opposed to someone like Jokic.
