I think it's kind of hard to do anything right now since no one really knows what happened yet.

I sure as hell wouldn't cut him yet, but I wouldn't pick up his extension now.

I just dont know how long the Rockets can sit back and do nothing, granted we suspended him indefinately but I think they will take a stand like the Astros did to Lugo..

The Astros are one of the last teams I'd like to see the Rockets emulate in running their franchise.

I'm with CK. Not only is a man innocent until proven guilty, there has been too much already invested in Eddie's potential to just cut our losses like this- and it just might be for naught if it turns out he's innocent. How fun would that be?

If you cut him, you pay him and he still hits the 2003-04 cap.

Extending him makes the most business sense and while he's suspended, you don't have to pay him or have him around the team unless you want him there.

Umm...;) I think it's time for a change.

    And...about EG...

Too many problems. Keep him suspended. If his act doesn't clean up by the trade deadline...get rid of him.

Maybe we could package him with Mobley and Boli and trade them to Boston for a couple of decent role players.

There's really nothing the Rockets can do besides cutting him. Either they cut him, or they don't do anything. That's it. It's not like he's around the team at all, so he's not much of a distraction...the media may be, but they'll be one regardless of if he's cut or not. He's already on an indefinite suspension, so it's pointless to cut him. You're not paying him as of now, but you will be paying him if you cut him. Why waste the money? He's gonna count against the cap regardless, and he comes off the books after this season anyway.

So leave him alone and then let him go after this year. And if everything magically works out before season's end and he's able to come back without media scrutiny - hell, I'm all for it. Cutting him now is just stupid. Only thing it would accomplish is sending a message to the players and the league and what not.

Extend him, trade him for Othella; if he suddenly magically becomes a good player, or gives the Knicks reason to sign him long-term, the Knicks throw in a 1st rounder.

Excellent idea except in the case where he turns out to be really good but doesn't re-sign with NY.

You have to extend his contract and hope for the best.

If you don't his tradeable value goes down even further.

Even if all of this blows over, if a team does not acquire his bird rigths....he will be untradeable.

i say extend his contract..... if the right offer comes then, i would consider trading him...

...but not for othella.... c´mon guys.. you don´t trade 3 first round pick for a player that will be cut anyway (no i´m not talking bout eddie :) )

eddie still has potential to be a very good player for the rockets.... i won´t give up on him (same goes for nachbar)!!!

If I am JVG, I'll cut him.
