This question addressed to those of you who watched the Lakers and Blazers today, or saw the highlights. Lakers down 3, 13 seconds left, Kobe takes it to the hole, makes contact with Rasheed Wallace, and the shot goes. The question is, was Rasheed set, and was he inside or outside the circle under the basket that you can't be in? The officials said it was outside, Kobe was called for the charge, and Portland won. I'm sure you've heard Kobe's comments of "A horrible and absolutely ridiculous call." Of course you know Portland agrees with the call. So what does the BBS think? Just curious, cause the call could have easily gone either way. Was the charge call correct, or was it a defensive foul on Rasheed? Just trying to see what people here thought. Personally, I think barely, and just barely, Rasheed was outside the circle and that an offensive foul was the correct call. I didn't see the game, but if it caused the Lakers to lose, then it was definitely an offensive foul. ------------------
im with hottodie LAKERS SUCK!!!!!! ------------------ SUCK POLICE!!!!!! To point out individuals or teams that have managed to reach the pinnacle of SUCKINESS!!!!! ----- Rudy T SUCKS! The man needs to figure out: -That its okay to play Shandon in clutch situations. -Mobes doesn't have to get the ball every single time at the end of the game. -That its okay to actually give the ball to Steve or Mo at the end of the game.
i saw it, it was close, but i think it was offensive. the only thing is, the back of sheed's foot was like a little on the line but not really ------------------ people who are related dont have to look alike. my mom and dad dont resemble each other at all
Kobe needs to realize he cant take things into his own hands every game . Maybe he can drain 50% of his Jumpshots , or blow by anyone in the league . The kid needs to be humbled ------------------ "Its a good thing they don't make posters of European players" -Walt Williams after getting "posterized" by Zan Tabak .
I'm glad the call went against Kobe! The Laker's can't have their way all the time!! ------------------ TheMugg
I think it could have gone either way, but I was surprised because usually a franchise offensive player like Kobe gets the call. Nice that a defensive player is finally rewarded.
I thought it was an offensive foul. His feet were outside the circle. Though I don't know what the official rule on this is, I don't think having a toe on the line should be treated the same way here as it is on a 3-pointer. Even if a corner of his shoe did touch the line, he was outside the circle and therefore eligible to take a charge. I think the only question is did he have his feet set before Kobe got there. That is the close call, imo. He got there right before Kobe jumped. I thought it was long enough to consider him set, but I'd have understood if the refs said otherwise. (... of course, they didn't. ) Kobe was just pissed because he thought they had an understanding that the call would always go his way when the game was on the line. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
It was an offensive foul on Kobe Bryant. I saw Rasheed Wallace's foot outside the dotted line. ------------------
The refs definitely made the right call. By the way, has Kobe been fined for his comment about the play after the game? ------------------
The refs never really pay attention to the dotted circle in any game, it was only a big deal because it was on nbc. ------------------ I Bleed Rockets Pajama-Pinstriped-Blue!
