I believe the Chronicle's goal is to thrash a little on Rafer, by the looks of that list. You add a whole bunch more names, Francis, Cassell, Smith, and so on, you lose some of the effect.

That's actually a great point. Rafer is definitely the worse out of all of the listed point guards. The chronicle is bias just like the rest of us. Unless Rafer helps win us the title, you will always be the scapegoat.

Not to mention Calvin Murphy was a mostly pint sized 2 guard.

The poll is bogus, you don't include any of the point guards who help us win back to back championships. Are they clueless?

I know that we have had some fairly good point guards but how can you say any were better than Kenny Smith, who won two NBA Championships.
Lucas was good in his time but allowed DRUGS to enter his career and nearly destroyed our team. If you were following the team at this time you will understand what I am talking about.

Gotta go with Kenny also. He was pretty consistent night in night out. Never great but you knew what you were getting from him. Cassell was a good role player for us, definetly behind Smith though. I don't really see Francis as a true PG, to be on the list.

Sam Cassell is the best overall.

Neither Kenny Smith or John Lucas could play a lick of defense.

Kenny was the best shooter of the lot given (though Matt Maloney was possibly a better shooter than Kenny). Kenny was also completely owned by Gary Patton and any other guard who was good at press defense.

Lucas was the best passer. His jump shot was forgetable. His defense was easily the worst of the lot.

Murphy played mostly the 2 and shouldn't even be on the list.
