What do you think the chances are that the Van Gundy era begins with a bang tonight and a semi-major trade, i.e. trade up for a 1st rounder, deal for quality player, etc. takes place tonight?

I wonder what the odds are that you didn't realize "Poll" gets automatically appended to a poll thread's title.

Wow - thanks Cyber-genius! Pardon my idiocy! I should have known better than to venture into the world of brilliance that is ClutchCity without becoming more expert on the intricacies of thread-starting. Pardon me.

What are the odds Padgett didn't bother to look at the list of threads to see there is already another thread with a very similar poll?

I wonder what the odds are that you'll never meet padgett1 through padgett315 on this board.

Nothing is going to happen tonight other than the #44 pick (hopefully Perkins or Walton). I hope to be proven wrong, but I just don't think that JVG has had enough time to evaluate the roster and have a chance with EG or any of the others supposedly on the trading block.

What's the over/under on how many threads will be started about our draft pick in the next 24 hours?

The dicision to make a deal does not weigh heavily on what JVG thinks. This is CD's area and he knows this teams strengths and weaknesses. I think the real question is if they want to get younger which I think the answer is no.

My opinion is that it depends if Ford makes it to the Heat. I saw that any deal can not be announced until the final player is selected. So, if we trade the #44 as part of a deal, we'll be waiting into the night....but I'll wait patiently. I think the Heat move a big contract (JONES or GRANT) tonight. They've been too cash strapped to not consider doing a deal for the pick.

It's really a shame that this board is dominated by a bunch of condescending, arrogant cyber-studs who feel the need to insult and police the genuine Rockets fan who is not 100% fluent with the BBS rules of order. If at some point during your historic rise to "Senior Member" you took a breath to develop some people skills away from your keyboard, you would likely have other things to do in your life. Please pardon my great intrusion...I didn't mean to interrup the much more poignant and weighty threads involving trades for Paul Pierce, Eddie Jones and Jermaine O'Neal.

Is there a chance you will someday realize that the grief you're getting in this thread (except perhaps HP's original response) is a direct result of your hostile reactions?

Please pardon my "hostility". I often tend to lose my composure when confronted about my inadequecies in starting a proper BBS thread. I'll limit myself to simple responses in the future. And could someone please enlighten me as to the humor of the Padgett1 to Padgett315 humor? Are you not allowed to skip around when choosing a numerical at the end of a screen name? That must have been on the syllabus the same day that I missed regarding the word "Poll"'s automatic dispatch when creating a poll.

So, do you want to know why it's funny or is this your continued to not laugh at yourself when people poke innocent "cyber-stud" humor repurposed from a bunch of condenscending, arrogant, bar-studs and useless people skills learned away from the keyboard, when we have other things to do in life.

"Is there an Ernie Pantusso here?"

This can't be any worse than law school hazing... "Hey, there's a first-year... let's go put Ben Gay in his legal briefs..."

Seriously, I hope they make no draft day moves... particularly anything involving bringing in new, young players... JVG needs a chance to work with our players before the Rockets management does anything drastic. Although... I wouldn't start crying if Brand became a Rocket...
