I for one enjoyed the Penguins-Red Wings series over the NBA Finals for the first time in about a decade. The last minute stand by the Penguins' Fleury and Scuderi against the Red Wings assault was epic. You knew at that point Penguins were going to win the next game and take home the cup.

The NBA Finals could have been more interesting if Howard learned to make some free throws and Courtney Lee didn't blow that alley-hoop layup. Overall very disappointing finale for basketball fans.

Gotta go with the NHL here. There was more drama in every game alone than the NBA Finals (except for the drama of not being able to hit one free throw and ice a game).

    This year??

It's hard to argue against the drama of a Game 7.

I don't like Hockey but a game 7 will always trump a near sweep in the NBA finals. I watched the NHL final on Friday and there was drama and home fans trying to rally the troops. I think I watched a total of 4 minutes of last nights basketball game.

Without a doubt, the Stanley Cup finals but I disagree with the notion that it was obvious the Pens would win based on anything that happened in Game 6. There is a bigger element of luck in hockey than most other team sports. A lucky bounce or two can change the outcome of a game. Just one example would be that shot by a Detroit D-man late in the game that bounced off the crossbar and down toward the ice. Fleury was beat on that shot but had some good fortune. If that goes in, we're probably looking at overtime and possibly a different result. The Pens deserved every bit of that championship but they fully had to earn Game 7, independently of anything they did in Game 6. In my opinion, momentum or confidence or whatever you want to call it has a very minor carryover effect, if any at all.

The NBA finals weren't as boring as 4-1 would suggest. They had 3 great games during that series. The NHL was the best possible situation to get me to watch hockey, and I barely tuned in. Overall it was a pretty good playoffs for both sports.

i never watch hockey but I watched the third period of game 6 in pittsburgh and I was hooked, it was completely intense especially after the wings scored to cut it to 2-1.

I watched game 7 and it was just as if not more intense.

the lakers were handed two games by the magic and you cant do that to a great team like LA. I was thinking the nba finals would go 6 at most, i was actually surprised two of the games were so close. i thought the lakers would run away with each game.

I did not watch any of the Hockey games. I could not tell you the difference between a boring Hockey game and an exciting Hockey game because I don't know much about it.

If you get a chance, watch a couple of games next season. It doesn't take a lot of hockey knowledge to notice a good game from a bad one or an exciting game from a boring one.

I don't watch much hockey or really follow it. If an NBA game is on but a commercial is on, I'll watch a bit. I know minor stuff like major players, who won the past few years, and the guy that lost in the Stanley Cup 2 years in a row - Marion Hossa. Of course, the game is physical but their finals were intense and fun to watch when the NBA finals got a bit boring.

NHL without a doubt. The talent level of both teams were just so much higher than the NBA finals. It's like 2 Lakers teams with full strength all performing at their peak levels, going at each other for 7 games. How do you beat that?
