interesting thought. That pairing would make a lot of sense from a trade perspective and should be able to bring some value. as per the subject - I've been down on him, but he has been a good spark and is definitely athletic with improved defense and movement. I'd like to see him continue to get minutes at both the backup four and five.
I honestly believe you posted this thread just because of the pun. I don't give a damn about whether DMo is on the team by the deadline. I like his potential, but him on the team or not won't make much of a difference, at least not in a year or two. A better question is, is Asik?
I honestly think this is a legit question. DMo is showing his game off to other GMs and he very well may be gone by the trade deadline. Along with Asik.
he is still in his early 20s. Defense for an offensive minded eastern europeans always is the last thing to come by. but it does come with experience. Would hate to see him leave. When he is not shooting threes, he has so many weapons. With his arsenal and passing skills, you could have so many sets to showcase him, low post, high post, pick and roll, high pick and roll, motion. People nag about his Defense, but Demo is the only rockets player, sometimes jones, now that asik has the 'blue flu' who knows how to properly show on the PnR. I'm a little disappointed with his thespian skills. I thought he would be ahead of the class by now.
Wolves are sure that Love won't sign another contract with them. They could trade him to us for Asik + either DMo or TJones + picks (3-team deal and Asik goes somewhere else because Wolves has Pekovic)
Yes since I don't think we can get perceived value for him. I'm not even sure if Asik gets moved by the deadline. I have a feeling the deadline will be a little quiet this year.
I think he might be traded, rockets have been struggling at Primary PG and bench, so i could see Lin Dmo Asik and pretty much every other bench player getting traded. I dont think Bev will be traded, hes really good as backup PG.
Not sure, but I wouldn't get rid of him for a second round pick, which is all I think they could get for him by himself. I think he could be used as trade filler, but I don't think it will come to that. I really feel that Asik will be on the team for at least the rest of this season.
Who cares. I'm a dmo fan, but my passion about the team has subsided some. This team has some issues that likely aren't getting fixed this season to even make me believe they could go deep and possibly get to the finals. Trade him, keep him. Doesn't matter. He'd the least of the issues on this team.
No. Why would he be. He's not a rotation player on a contending team and won't be for at least another year. Whatever he might give you on offense he gives up on D. Because Jones isn't a reliable shooter, which kills the Rockets offense when teams decide to ignore him. Not saying the Rockets need to trade him, but the Rockets as currently constructed are going nowhere and dealing Asik alone may not get them to where they want/need to be, so by no means should Jones be off the table.
He doesn't really fit on this team to where he can play for anything more than short stretches. The reason for that is his inability to play the 5 (defensively and on the glass) and the fact that he's not a good fit next to Dwight, at the 4. Get his value up for now, and package him with Asik (and maybe an expendable pick or two). Get a legit perimeter (2/3) defender and a solid backup C.
I care. I've been critical of DMo, but it looks like he is starting to figure things out a little bit. If Asik is traded we may really need DMo. However, I think Morey is focused on getting a third star, so If Morey can pick up some kind of trade chip in return for DMo, i'm sure he would be traded. I don't think Morey is too concerned about making a trade that weakens this years team. The Rockets don't look like contenders right now, but I'm still enjoying the season. Regular season performance isn't always an indicator of post season success. In 1981 the Rockets only won 40 regular season games and made it all the way to the finals. In 1986 they won only 51 regular season games and made it to the finals. In 1995 they only won 47 regular season games and won a championship. The Rockets don't look like contenders right now, but we're only half way through the season. I'm hoping that if everyone can get healthy, and Morey makes a trade or two we may become a contender come playoff time.
