Hey guys...which color brick for a new home? You will all be invited to a house warming party...expensive gift required!!! Here's the link to the two fascias. Brick Choice Link Thanks FT
"She's a BRICK......HOUSE..." Anyway, I like the red one, the top one, the rojo intense or whatever. Yep, that's it....Very striking....
I like the Summerset better my self. Its a lot easier on the eyes and has more curb appeal. Is this a rough sketch of the home you are going to live in? Its beautiful.
Thanks. Yes, this is a basic sketch of the house. It's a custom home, and the floor plan is going to be open and have four bedrooms. We didn't waste any space. Everyone that has seen it really likes it.
Ok guys...I need everyones help here...my spouse prefers one and I prefer the other. The vote stands at 3-4 counting posts and votes, but we can't tell if a voter has also posted a response...please let me know if you voted or posted your vote so we don't count a vote twice. I won't say who likes which until later. This is making for an interesting "discussion/competition" in our house. Thanks again...
I voted for give you an idea, because, personally, I don't like either. Maybe its just the poor picture quality, though, but they both look very very similar to me. Have you looked at any light shades of brick. What about something like this: found here. I think your design would look pretty nice in that stone kinda look personally.
Jay, This is FT's spouse posting. I am using his screen name because I haven't registered on this forum. FT and I personally feel that the gray shades are too drab and boring. Your idea may work for another style home...like maybe something in the area of Stone Henge. J/k... We are after a more Colonial look. Anyway, thanks for your idea ...
I didn't vote. Honestly, I don't feel I can make a decision on the drawings, I'd at least need hi-res photos of the brick itself....or to see the brick. Generally, a more red type brick would be more appropriate for a colonial type home.....though I'm not so sure I'd call your elevation "colonial."
This thread reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask... So, Old School...how's that new house coming along? There haven't been any threads about it in a while, so either everything is perfect, or you've been too busy fighting weeds on your front lawn and getting your garage door opener to work...
By the way.....why limit yourself? Is it truly a custom home, or is it semi-custom? Are these the choices your builder gave you? Does your builder build a lot of the homes in your neighborhood? If so, you may find yourselves with a home that looks too much like your neighbors. You CAN use a different brick....though it may cost a little more. For your elevation selection, I like "brazos Bend," "Cobblestone," "Chesterfield Col," and "Chateau." All of those can be viewed at acme brick's website.
It is truly a custom home, and our builder has not set any limits as to what our choices may be. We designed the floor plan according to our needs and likes. The only limit is a monetary one, which we have set ourselves. The brick color choices on the sketches are the two that we like, but have not decided on which. It is the only thing my spouse and I have not come to an agreement on. The house is not a true colonial style since colonial style homes are usually two levels and boxier. I guess it is a combination of Spanish, Colonial, and Traditional. Whatever the case...it is our style. BTW...this is FT's spouse...known as Luv2 on another forum.
