    Howdy, all!

The poker tournament is this Saturday, September 30th. I have changed a couple of things since it looks like there won't be as many people as I thought, but we are still having the tourney. We will be getting started at 3:00 p.m. to give some more people an opportunity to join us, but since it won't be as big as previously anticipated (it looks like we will have between 15 and 20), we should still not run past 6 or 7. I have modified the blind structure a bit in order to eliminate the need for $5 chips and have bumped the timing back to 15 minutes for blind increases. The blind structure will be as follows...

    SB BB
    10 20
    20 40
    30 60
    40 80
    Break
    50 100
    60 120
    80 160
    100 200
Break (color up $10 and $20 chips)
    150 300
    200 400
    250 500
    300 600
Break (Color up $50 and $100 chips)
    500 1000
    1000 2000
    1500 3000
    2000 4000
    Break (Color up $500 chips)
    3000 6000
    4000 8000
    5000 10000
    10000 20000

Everyone will start with $5000 in chips, five $10 white chips, three $50 red chips, three $100 blue chips, three $500 green chips, and three $1000 black chips.

As has been discussed before, I will not be providing refreshments, so you should bring whatever you will want to consume or money to order something for delivery. If you are bringing refreshments, you might want to consider bringing a cooler as well as refrigerator space could be limited. If you have chairs, you might want to bring one just in case. I have some folding chairs, but they are not the most comfortable in the world.

At 2:45, we will draw cards for places at the tables. We will have a max of 8 per table. If you are going to be late, please call me and we will set out your chips at a random spot and will blind you in until you get to the tourney.

If you have previously emailed me to register, I sent you an email containing this information plus directions to my house. If you have not registered or did not receive this email, please contact me at my moniker at gmail dot com or by emailing me through the board. I hope y'all can make it out.

I wish I could be there, but my son has a Cub scout camp, and I don't want to miss that.

I wouldn't expect you to. I will have another tourney again in the near future. I will always hold them the first Saturday after the last working day of the month (I get paid the last working day of the month). That is usually going to be the first Saturday of every month, but this month is an exception.

I just won a 12 man local on Saturday night, it was fun. I had a few times where I had Da Nutz and my opponent had a good hand, so I was knocking em out ...

    :D

I'd like to play also Andy but we always go to the Ren Fest on opening weekend and my kids would kill me if we skipped it so I could go play poker.

    Hopefully next time.

I'm not certain yet, but my rugrats may well be running around also.

FYI, on cash game nights, we regularly have 3-5 kids in the house so if you want to come to our games with the young'uns, you are more than welcome.

    Andy,

Could you email me the info regarding the tournament. Is it no-limit hold em?
Whats the buy-in? How long do you see the game lasting?

Andy, will you be allowing rebuys, if so what is the policy?

Most tourneys allow some amount of rebuys; just more money in the pot, I'm cool either way.

    $25 buy in, no re-buys.

There will be a cash game that will start up once enough people who want to play get knocked out of the tourney.
