There are still a ton of poker sites that allow American customers. The problem is finding a source to get money onto the actual poker sites. Since the recent legislation, many banks have locked their customers out of the websites. They simply won't let you transfer money from your bank account to the website. For example, this past summer, when I tried to put money on Full Tilt, Bank of America temporarily suspended my account until I called some 800 number. When I called they proceeded to give me a lecture and told me they would not let me be a customer of their bank if I tried it again... Your best bet would be using a site like ePassporte or some other third party, but it's even hard to get on those sites now.
yes, i play on Poker Stars casually for money. You can also use some credit cards to load money but yeah loading is a pain sometimes
Actually loading is very easy. Just buy a prepaid MC at HEB/Randalls etc... and then transfer it to the poker site of your choice. DD
I suggest Bodog if you can get into it. Easiest site in the world once you get the pattern of their hands. I deposited $20 the first time and cashed out $250. Then I stopped playing to study for the LSATs, and i again deposited $20 and cashed out $700. Add that to those to the ocassional $150 I would cash out every three weeks and that site was paying for my money that I would go and gamble at the Indian casinos at! I am tempted to start again, but I am also having trouble with the deposit now because they aren't accepting e-checks anymore! That sucks!
Actually its even easier, pokerstars & fulltilt takes echecks now, which is pretty much like a wire transfer, takes like 2 secs, works with bank of america and other big banks
