Are you in favor of staying with Rafer, giving JLIII more minutes, or trying VSpan and if not how low does Rafer's shooting percentage have to fall before you become in favor of VSpan getting some minutes.

Personally, I feel like Rafer's shooting percentage has fallen to the point where it cannot possibly be worse than a couple extra turnovers from VSpan. IMO, Rafer is giving us not very much defensively, and he is jamming up the offense with his insistence on clunking the long balls.

your right, but we have not seen Billy play point yet.

I like JL111 as the backup getting some minutes.

Yeah, if you want to wear McGrady out and have him perfrom his second best skill primarily instead of his first. McGrady is a scorer first/distributor second not a distributor first/scorer second. And when we make him a distributor, we make it easier on the good teams to shut us down, especially when playoff teams that can rotate and take away the 3 point shot from Head and make him put the ball on the floor. It won't work come playoff time.

i still think Rafer is the best PG we have, he should take 35 mins per game; we should start him until there is a better one available on the free agent market.

Luther starting at the PG, and get V-SPan some minutes...

    Shoot Rafer in the foot.

I chose Tracy at the point. It's what he's doin already. Might as well let him dribble it up the court. He'd still have to make the decision to shoot or pass. He'll still get touches where he'll be in the triple threat position.

Otherwise, I just say keep Rafer at the point at this point. I haven't written the guy off yet.

This team does not need a pure point guard. TMac pretty much does the play calling whenever the ball is in his hands at the top of the 3 pt line anyway. If Luther can just bring the ball up half court and give it to TMac and he can go to work from there. I don't think it'll tax tmac too much. If luther starts facing full court pressure then he can defer a little bit more to Tmac to bring the ball up more. However I think Luther can handle atleast that much. Also this should only be a temporary solution till we get yao, bonzi and synder back and then maybe rafer can play more and shoot less with more offensive firepower.

Nash is a great distributor AND and great scorer. No reason T-Mac can't be that. As long as he is healthy, T-Mac is our best PG.

We have enough depth at the SG spot when everyone is healthy (Head, Wells, Snyder). Let Alston and Lucas split the PG time in the first half. And let T-Mac be the point in the second half. (Those two can come in when T-Mac sits down for a breather at the end of Q3 and the beginning of Q4.)

If the Rox are going to experiment I'd like for JVG to try TMac at the point instead of trying VSpan at the point. I'd like to see this lineup on the floor before the playoffs to see how effective it would be.

    T-Mac
    Bonzi
    Battier
    JH
    Yao

    I just don't understand someone's logic...

you guys are complaining that Rafer's shooting sucks, then turn around and prefer VSpan over Rafer???
VSpan shoots even worse, and with a higher turnover rate

You know how it could possibly get worst? By giving V-span 15minutes + a game, since not only is he turnover prone, foul prone he also CANT SHOOT.

If you think Rafer's shooting is bad, what do you think V-span's sub 30% shooting? V-Span HAS a HORRIBLE jump shot AND if he were to get extended playing time at pg, it wouldnt take long for the opposing defense to not even bother closing out on him. In effect they would sagg off him, goi under screen and rolls, leave him open and protect the paint, thus leaving him with NO options but to shoot the Jumper. If you have a hard time picturing it, imagine the defenses versus Ryan Bowen.

As far as he should get minutes at PG, obviously it should be Rafer at 20-25 minutes, Head 10-15, JLIII, 10-15 or in the scenario I prefer, somehow get Dallas to trade us A.Johnson for Sura's exp contract and make rafer the backup point.

And for Lucas, he doesn't know how to play defense.

Rafer can't shoot, but at least he made M.James go 3/12, I will call it a wash.

Now, what will happen if you put Lucas on M.James? Will you feel better if we lose the game because M.James burns us for 30 pts?
