I'm about 10 years late to this scene, but I recently discovered the awesomeness of podcasts. I listen to Bill Burr (monday morning podcast) and the Sklar Brothers (sklarbro country) and love both of em. I'd like to expand my scope now so that I have more to listen to when I drive around town. Any suggestions? I enjoy comedy and I love sports comedy. For example, I love it when John and Lance on 1560AM go off on random tangents (Lance's impressions can be pretty hilarious too). Any suggestions would be appreciated. HENDERSON!!
aw darn... i just found some old CF threads... sorry! if anyone wants to add in some more though, feel free
The Ricky Gervais show podcasts are now audiobooks that you have to buy, but well worth the money Just him, Stephen Merchant, and Karl Pilkington shooting the ****
The Adam Carolla Show (general discussion of pop culture, current events, etc. - I'm in love with co-host/news girl, Alison Rosen) How Did This Get Made? (all about terrible movies) Disciples of Clyde (NBA basketball - often skews toward Knicks topics) NBA Today (self-explanatory) BS Report (general sports)
I've been all about The Tobolowsky Files lately. Steven Tobolowsky just tells theatre, movie, and life stories. Good Stuff. http://www.slashfilm.com/category/features/slashfilmcast/the-tobolowsky-files/
If you like Bill Burr like I do then you will like Jim Jeffries and Eddie Iffit Talkin ****. Its' a really funny podcast.
I live in a walking town, so I am listening to podcasts all the time (at the gym, walking to and from work, in the car on weekends, etc). So my list is pretty long: ABC This Week with Christiane Amanpour ESPN: PTI ESPN: BS Report Face the Nation on the Radio Fareed Zakaria GPS Fitzdog Radio FOX News Sunday New York Times: Front Page Hot Clicks Podcast w/ Jimmy Traina NBC Meet the Press NBC Nightly News The Nerdist NPR: Business Story of the Day NPR: Economy Podcast NPR: It's All Politics NPR: Planet Money CNN: State of the Union THeStreet.com's Real Story (though the host Gregg Greenberg just announced on yesterday's podcast that they are going on a "long hiatus" - sounds like it will be cancelled... sucks b/c it was a great daily wrap up of the market and he had interviews with folks all throughout the financial industry daily) The Tony Kornheiser Show Wall Street Journal This Morning WTF with Marc Maron Dave Dameshek's new NFL podcast and the now crappy Adam Carolla podcast... I can't stand it anymore - but I let them pile up on my iphone so i have something to listen to on the off days where I've burned through the above list.
Apologize for the double post, but I just thought of a podcast I didn't recommend in last thread about it: Uhh Yeah Dude - It's just two guys, both are distantly connected to Hollywood, but they just talk about current events and wierd stories in the newspaper while they sit around their apartment. One guy is an out of work actor that was in that terrible Britney Spears movie and the other is the son of Night Court's John Larroquette. Strangely to me... this show is on like episode 270 something... it's been around a while. I can't really explain why it's funny, but I laugh my a** off every week.
This is a great line up, I would like to add; Spider and the Henchman Part of the Ace (Adam Carolla's network) Broad casting network) This American Life - Best roadtrip podcast of all time.
I'm hooked on all of the HowStuffWorks.com podcasts. I particularly love the 'Stuff You Missed In History Class' podcast.
A History of World War II podcast by Rar Harris, Jr. - Very detailed podcast that takes you through the entire war in great detail. At this point in time, there are 26 episodes, with the 26th installment dealing with Dunkirk.
