Hinrich & this year's 1st round pick for Francis gives us a true point guard and the ability to get some much needed size in the frontcourt, and it gives the Bulls the legit star that they lack.
I do this deal because Francis simply does not have the heart of a champion.

I don't want to trade Steve but this would be a good deal! Opens up cap space!

i would say yes. Hiniirch has more of a perimiter game than steve and therefore would fit with yao much better. And im sure hinirch can run a DECENT FASTBREAK.And he can play D.

wow... why wouldn't you do this?

top 3 pick and an OK PG?

    not a bad deal.

    unless you're really risk averse.

there is a chance the Hinrich may not develop any further. he's still pretty inconsistent, he's had some clunkers recently.

Yes, one must take risks to be successful. If the Bulls knew for certain that Hinrich would improve, they'd never make the deal - but nothing in life is certain.
I think the one thing that we can all agree on is that Steve, however, will not improve - and his attitude only seems to be getting worse.

attitude? it looks like he is playing hard all the time. he's not playing well all the time, but he's trying. it's not like he's refusing to come to practice or subsitute into games or anything. i really don't know what you are talking about.

Do the words "Superbowl Sunday" mean anything to you? Or how about saying "bull@#%*" on TV and thus risking a suspension? Or how about leading the league in technical fouls? Need I go on?

I rather have Hinrich and Ed Currie for Franchise. Next Trade Mobley and Cato for Ray Allen. We need players that can play on both ends of the court and can put the ball in the hole!!

If I got a dime for every time someone proposed this "trade idea", I could afford that sex change operation that I want to perform...on my dog. Good idea or not, you shouldn't be taking other people's ideas and call them your own.

Sorry 'bout that. I guess I have better things to do with my time than scour the board day & night for any mention of a trade scenario similar to mine. I'll either work harder like you or stop posting completely. Would that make you happy?

There is a ceiling on this team due to the horrid contracts given out by Rockets management. I'm in favor of trading bad contracts, and that includes Steve Francis' max contract which I think he will never be able to live up to.

Give up the Heinrich trade, its not going to happen. Krause has said many of times that he is building around Curry and Heinrich, period. Give it up

any chance of getting Chris Duhon next year? he doesnt seem to be going that high in the draft (unless duke goes far), he's seasoned, heady, and can pass. He's also an underrated shooter and a strong defender, quite possibly the heinrich of next year's draft.

    You mean Paxson?

Krause barely saw Hinrich, if at all even.

Good trade, but Chicago wouldn't do it.

Pretty much agree with a few in here, in that Chicago won't give up Hinrich and their lotto pick for Steve.

In fact, I doubt they would even give up their lotto pick for Steve straight up.

You have the inherent problem of matching salaries, which would require Chicago to lump in alot of filler, on top of Hinirich and Okafor to make the trade work (assuming Chic is over the cap). Steve just isn't worth that.

IMO, if you trade Steve, you shouldn't expect to get more than one capable starter and a good bench player in return, along with a future protected 1st.

I voted "No" 'cause it's not going to happen.

    Steve Francis = $11.3m
    Kirk Hinrich = $2.3m
    Unsigned draft picks = $0.00

CHI has to add $7.3m before it works under the APE. So IMO...

    * Paxson and Skiles would rather keep Hinrich and the pick.
    * Paxson and Skiles would only interested if you move Francis to another team and send them someone they want.
    * Paxson and Skiles might be interested if the Rocket were willing to eat the salaries of Antonio Davis and/or Jerome Williams while sending an expiring contract and/or small contract or a productive player (Cato 2 yrs @ $16.6 for an aging Jerome Williams 31 yo / 4 yrs @ $25m).
