Please give me some cool suggestions because I want to hear some good new music today as I seek inspiration for my jam session tonight with a new band. Thanks!

Anything good from your nephew playing the toaster to Satie to Hip Hop to Movie Soundtracks.

Here are some examples ya'll might like:

Brian Eno's original version of "Spinning Away"

"Everything = Finite" by David Byrne

    "Watermelon" by Leo Kottke

    "Southbound" by the Allman Brothers

"Pea" By The Red Hot Chili Peppers

You mean "waterfalls" by TLC? You see that would be a bad example of what I am looking for. I am really looking for stuff I have never heard because it is not well known. It doesn't have to be totally obscure, but if anybody as any personal favorites that most people don't know about that would be great.

Not a lot of people know about Dream Theater, but they kick all kinds of ass. Check out "Burning My Soul" or perhaps "New Millenium" for some shorter type songs (it is progressive rock, which means they have a lot of very long songs). Also, I highly recommend "The Mirror"

Cool, I think Puppies on Acid is actually a live version of "The Mirror", if I recall correctly. Might be The Mirror with some other stuff added in. I haven't listened to that live CD in a while

Also, for a slightly different suggestion, I am currently listening to Libertango as performed by Yo Yo Ma.... and it rules.
