I do believe in the power of prayers. While I do pray for alot of important things in life, I also believe in praying for my favorite team. Why not? No matter what religion you believe in, nothing says "thou shall not pray for thy sports team", right? This is not a thread of religion debates, not a thread of uninvited and tasteless jokes. For those who wants to pray for your favorate Houston Rockets, please join. Dear Lord: Please deliver us from pain, disappointment and mediocrity; Please heal the injured players so they can return soon; Please protect our players from further injuries; Please help Yao get back in shape fast; Please watch over TMac's back; Please inject energy and desire into Stromile Swift; Please help Head and Hayes develop into future stars; Please deliver some favorable trades so we can improve; Please let Houston fans support the team more. Amen.
Prayer is a good thing, but pray for a professional Sports Team which provides entertainment and pleasure. The success or failure of the Houston Rockets will in no way contribute to the forgiveness & salvation of mankind. Our prayers would be better placed asking for peace between Palestine & Israel.
For though the LORD is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he knows from afar. Though the rockets walk in the midst of trouble, thou dost preserve their playoff chances; thou dost stretch out thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand delivers me bountiful layups.
Good prayer. These threads come about every once and awhile, and, while part of me considers such prayers frivolous, another part of me says that the Rockets and this board are therapy and therapy is valuable. Are there more important issues? Absolutely. But in this fantasy of sports there are few cities in the U.S. that have experienced more disappointments, frustration, and failure than Houston, Texas. Surely, there is a reason for the humiliation that has become the fate of the fans who live here or follow Houston teams. Rarely does anything ever "work" with sports in this city. Maybe, just getting to the World Series after several decades and being swept is all we can expect.
i do believe in the power of prayer. our team really needs our prayer more than ever. DeAleck's prayer is simple and sincere. i do hope the rockets team pray that prayer as well. i join you in our collective effort in praying for the team! God bless the Houston Rockets!
I woke up at 4 am and I had a vision from the source of all that is good. The Rockets will win every game in the month of february which will give them a 12 game winning streak. That's as far as i was able to see, the light beyond that was too bright.
didn't the lord asks us to pray for "his kindom to come; his will be done" and then everything else will be given to us. thus rendering the above prayer useless.
