First off I am 100%, pure and unadulterated pro-gun...I cherish my right to own firearms so much that this topic is a top priority when I vote the politic game...

With that being said...everyone please keep the guns in the lockbox. keep the ammo surplus in the crate...shooting guns in the air on the 4th is pure stupidity. Only bad things happen when stupid people do that...

Randy's gun collection (as if you care...)

    Handgun:

Smith & Wesson model 5943 police tactical in 9mm (3- 15 round clips)
    Glock 23 in .40 S&W (3- 13 round clips)

    Rifles:

    Ruger 10/22 in .22LR
    Remington 710 in .30-06
    Colt match target "AR-15" in 5.56 x 45mm nato (6- 30 round clips, 1- 9 round clip)

    Shotgun:

    Winchester Defender in 12 GA.

...and of course, my goal to waste more money continues.

What goes up, must come down. A fact many drunks and idiots seem to forget a couple of times per year (4th of July, New Years Eve).

An acquaintance of mine lost his wife-- mother of three children-- on just such an occurance.

They were driving down an main road here and the bullet entered the car and struck her in the side of the head. She held her 4 MO baby in her arms.

The wife and mother died later that night on the Fourth of July.

The shooter, who was inebriated, had just fired off a round from her back yard toward some trees.

So, ROXRAN, which one is best for shooting squirrels? :)

Seriously, good points about the guns... remember it next New Year's Eve as well.

hmmm... don't shoot a gun in the air...

this seems like common sense to me, something that should be practiced EVERYDAY, not just on the 4th or NYE... :(

the best part is to celebrate your nations birthday by every Budweiser you drink, you toss that empty 16oz can into the air and you shoot it!

But seriously, that **** freaks me out. Every 4th of July and New Years, dear god its terrifying. And although I am 100% pro-gun as well, I usually just lay in bed covered in pillows.

Besides, if you shoot your guns into the air, we may mistake you for terrorists, and drop a bomb on your house.

Every summer I pull at least one bullet out of my roof. Sort of a Heights tradition.

There was a story in the paper a couple of years ago. I think the details were this: a 14 YO girl in San Diego was killed in her own back yard when a bullet fell from the sky and split open her head.

Those bullets have to land somewhere, dammit!
