First of alll..... Glad to be back fellas. Its been a while.... Ive FINALLY moved into my new pad in Houston and damn does it fell good to be home....

I almost kicked my fathers own ass this past weekend. He just moved into a new house with my step-mom and we were taking the wet trash to the curb. As I was moving a heavy box that wasnt so wet, I peeked in to see what was in there.

Oh yes..... try not to cry...... VINTAGE VINYL RECORDS!!!!!!

Ok Ok Im thinking maybe this isnt so bad.... He probably only has like barry manilow or some **** like that

    NOPE!!!

Here are the highlights of what I found:

THE BEATLES F*CKING WHITE ALBUM!!!
    Bob Dylan - Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2
The Moody Blues - On The Threshold of a Dream
Crosby Stills Nash Young - Various Albums (too many to list)
Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells a Story
Cat Stevens - Tea For The Tillerman
Steve Miller Band - Various Albums
    James Taylor - Greatest Hits
    Carole King - Tapestry
Simon and Garfunkel - Parsley, Sage / Bookends
    Billy Joel - The Stranger
    The Beatles - Rubber Soul

Needless to say, I was pissed at my dad. Dude thought they werent worth anything, but I told them that I would buy a freaking turntable just so I could listen to this classic stuff.

That would have been a tragedy folks.....

Wow. A near tragedy! You're like The guy in Almost Famous whose older sister lays some records on him as she's moving out. His life is never the same.

I can't wait to get my dad's vinyl collection.

Lot's of Beatles, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd in addition to the stuff you just mentioned.

I still have my vinyl from when I DJ'd. I've been dragging that heavy crap around w/ me for years, and they're prob all warped by now anyway. :)

Isn't it amazing how heavy records are? I have a bowed top shelf in my closet from a row of records. I've got somewhere between 300 and 400 albums. They take up a lot of space, which gets me grief sometimes from the old lady. I've managed to hang on to them and many still haven't come out on disc.

Heyyyyy. I love Barry Manilow! I've got his greatest hits in my CD right now. I think I'll go play Mandy just to spite you.

Mine was $90. I have no idea if I was ripped off or got a good deal.

Why is The Beatles' White Album so valued?

I was always under the impression that Beatles stuff wasn't as valuable as you would think, since they sold so many copies, there are a lot still in circulation.

If you need a new turntable or need to get one fixed, check out Sound Exchange at Richmond Ave. and Hazard. They did unbelievable work on my early-70s Pioneer heavy swingarm turntable, and it works better than ever.

Nont a single one of those record was worth more than a $1 unless they were some super rare edition.

I can walk into any record store in the city and pick those up for $2-3 a piece, or buy brand new represses for around $15.

    So, I guess they'd be worth $2-3, eh? ;)

I knew someone with half a brain would come up with that response.

The record store marks stuff up, otherwise they wouldn't make money.
