I bought a network adaptor when they first came out and used it with my dial-up connection. I had no problems at all for about five months until one day i tried to connect and the PS2 did not detect the adaptor. So, at this point I fumbled around trying to troubleshoot what was wrong. Nothing i did seemed to fix the problem. About a month ago I got DSL so I figured I would give the network adaptor a try with the broadband connection. Still no dice. I then proceeded to go to Wal-Mart and purchase another network adaptor and try it. Same problem as before. The PS2 doesn't detect that the modem is there. I can't even get to the freakin' configuration screen to set-up the connection. Anyone have any ideas? Is my PS2 fried in the back where the Network Adaptor connects?
Dont you have the network adapter startup cd? You should be able to use that to set your network adapter up. I had the same problem trying to setup to play madden. It wouldnt detect the network adapter untill I ran the startup cd.
The software is already setup on the PS2 and the configuration is saved on my memory card. The PS2 won't even recognize the adaptor is there.
Strange. Yeah, it more than likely is a problem with the connector. You could try and delete your configuration and reinstall the software from the disc, but more than likely (especially using a new adapter) it is the connection somehow. I shall now refrain from making a Sony hardware crack.
