I think it goes without saying that at this point in the season the mid to upper echelon teams in the West are virtually unattainable. However, the team to keep an eye on is Phoenix. The Rockets are within a game or two of Denver and Seattle and I am confident that if we continue to play to our capabilities, they won't be a problem. Although at 30-20 the Suns seem pretty well planted in that 8th spot, their schedule for the remainder of the season is insanely difficult compared to ours. I think a win at Orlando, putting us at 27-25 instead of 26-26, is huge in terms of setting the tone for a playoff run. Rockets keep winning + Suns start losing = playoff berth.Who's with me? ------------------
I agree with you rocketfan79. Certain teams we will not be able to catch but I believe Phoenix, Dallas, and even Minnesota are teams the Rockets can catch. First we have to take care of Denver and Seattle which shouldn't be a problem. Seattle looked pretty rusty last night versus the Celtics. The Rockets are only 1 game behind Seattle and 1.5 games behind Denver. Phoenix is currently 4.5 games up on us but like you said they have a very difficult schedule. Now is the time to make the playoff push and it continues tonight in Orlando. I really believe that if the Rockets do not win the Orlando, Cleveland, and Boston games, they will miss the playoffs. This is their last chance to make a run. Lets hope they are up to it. ZRB, These next three games are very critical to the Rockets making the playoffs. These are games they should win but the team has been inconsistent throughout the season so we just don't know which team will show up. The Orlando and Boston games scare me because both of those teams are playing well and they could upset the Rockets. I still think the Rockets will find a way to sweep the next three games. If not the playoffs could very well be in jeopardy. I am concerned but I think the Rockets will get the job done. Well, lately I have tried to be more positive, but I just get bad feelings from the next three games. I feel that if they can sweep the next three, they could end up beating Minnessota and Portland as well.
