Hope I get an answer before this gets locked up for non rockets related. Just wondering why Porland is ranked 4th while we are at 5th but we clinched playoffs instead of them. HOw does it work?
Suns are 2-2 against the Blazers, and the Blazers are 0-3 against the Mavs. If the Mavs, Suns, and Blazers wound up in a 3 day tie, the Blazers would be the odd man out. Other than the Lakers, we did solidly against the other Contenders, so there are no multiple team tie breaks with the Suns where we would wind on the bottom.
because somehow if portland losses the rest of its games and the suns win the rest they would be tied for 8th/9th because their season series is tied we already clinched because we're up 2-1 on the series against the suns so even if our overall ends up tied we make 8th seed but really Portland's sure to make playoffs the only teams that might not are Dallas and Phoenix, and if they don't pick it up (hopefully) the Jazz
