Unanimous vote in the chat was to just finish off the season tonight because the only close races were in the NL East and West. Neither East owner has been able to be very active this year and DHR was in the chat at the time... and we figured Raven wouldn't much care.
Anyway, the regular season is over and the playoff matchups look like this:

    Texas vs.
    *Hawaii

    Boston vs.
    Cleveland

    Arizona vs.
    *Houston

    Chicago vs.
    Sao Paulo

    *- best league record

I'm updating all this tonight, but there's no damn way I'm generating 5 weeks' worth of box scores... sorry, Manny. ;)

Oh yeah! Excellent news for Dean... Carico can now play 2b! Badly, but nonetheless... :D

    Results from last night...

Hawaii up 2-1 on the Rangers
Red Sox up 2-1 on the Indians

Arizona up 2-1 on the Astros
Sao Paulo up 2-0 on the Cubs

Play was stopped before the Cubs game so that Sammy would have a chance to be present or at least make changes for his game.

Zac told me that he'd continue simming tonight around 8 pm.

Just thought the guys that weren't around would like to know this...

    Those damned Sao Pauloians!

I'll try to show up around 8, just to know what happened in the early games (hard to make adjustments when you don't know what needs adjusting). But there's no guarantee I'll get off work before then.

If I'm not around, just keep things the way they are. Kerry Wood starting game 3.

Well it looks like the Stros and tribe are up to their old tricks.

Zac who is scheduled to throw for me? If it is #5 I want to skip that number in the rotation.

Also move Kelly Johnson back into the SS position.

Castor - Albert Sorenson is scheduled to throw for you.

Sammy - I just wanted to let you know that I did get your rotation changes in (Ong and Christensen started games 1 and 2 and Kerry is scheduled to throw today), but the lineup edit came in after I simmed the first two playoff games. That means Julio Keith started in right field for you. My apologies :( Your lineup and bullpen changes are in now, but I will wait until tonight to sim the game.

Thanks to BGM for posting the update.

Zac, it's all good. I thought my changes were in time, since I was in chat then and I got the impression that the playoffs hadn't started yet. But anyway, it's not likely that Saine over Keith would've made a difference. Hopefully old man Kerry can pick up a win tonight and extend the series.

Zac...if I am not around tonight, don't let my absence hold up any of the playoffs. I don't care if an elimination game for my team is simmed in my absence.

    Incidentally, go DBacks!!!

Here's a surprise... the Salukis come back from down 3-1 to win the Series 4-3 against Hawaii. Mad props to the computer.

We'll have a couple days for people to do resignings and then we'll have free agency. I'm just not exactly sure what day that will be.

Nothing is like the original. I will out-heath you all in buying my way to the 2nd round. I know I can't afford it, but I do have the money, atleast for one more go. Maybe a 200M payroll will sound nice next year. Well I can atleast push it to around 170M before I'm rejected the buy a playoff-series win method.

Of course with a revenue of 110M I will lose money faster than anyone ever lost money. Moving the team out of Canada wont help either, as I'm not even there.

Heath, be sure you're looking at the right numbers this year. You have $22,351,920 only to spend on free agents (as in, the game will not let you offer more than that).

BGM, I can't see what you'd possibly want in free agency besides MAYBE a pitcher or two. :) Right now, Hawaii has arguably the second-best offense in the entire league...
