Nobody has posted this yet, but I've been getting lots of e-mails -- so here's the quick facts on playoff ticket sale times: Tickets for individual playoff games officially go on sale for the general public this Friday at midnight at the Toyota Center Box Office only. There's going to be a viewing party for the game at Denver right across the street at the new B.U.S., so if you want to be first in line, come hang out there and enjoy the game. They'll be handing out numbered wrist-bands there for line position -- so if you want to be near the front of the line, it's better to get there early. The game that night starts at 8 p.m. Houston time. The box office will stay open until we've gotten through everybody in line. Playoff tickets go on sale via www.rockets.com, 1-877-NBA-ROCKETS, and participating Randall's outlets at noon on Saturday. That goes for the box office, too -- once it shuts down after the midnight on-sale, the box office will open at 10 a.m. for the Prince concert on-sale launch, and then will re-open at noon for Rockets fans. Don't come at 10 a.m. unless you want to wait in line for Prince tickets. (And if you do want Prince tickets, by all means get your purple clad butt down here. This will most likely be our fastest sellout of any concert to date at the Toyota Center.) If you have a season ticket or mini-plan, you're eligible for the pre-sale on-line which starts tomorrow (Thursday) and continues through Friday. If you're eligible, you should've gotten a postcard in the mail with the password for the pre-sale. If you didn't get a card but should have, though, call 713-627-DUNK and ask for a ticket sales rep, and they can look up your account and get you the right information. Finally, if anybody wants to buy a playoff mini-pack -- that means paying up front for all possible 8 games in the first two rounds -- you can buy that now buy calling 713-627-DUNK. You do get refunded for all unplayed games, and playoff pack holders do get the best choice of seats. (We've actually had pretty solid sales on these.) Apologize for what may sound like a long ticket info posting -- I was just getting enough e-mails from people asking for the information that it seemed to make sense to post it up here. Tim
i bought a mini playoff package last week with a buddy. obviously all the games won't be used since we won't have home court but if we can somehow play the lakers in the second round i imagine i could sell one ticket and pay for the whole thing.
Tim, Public service announcements at cc.net to enhance Rockets sales are followed by anonymous contributions to Clutch's tipjar, right?
If you buy a ticket and the game isn't played, you get refunded the price of the ticket. And each person can buy up to 8 tickets per game. But, honestly, if you want to buy more than that, just call our Groups Dept. at 713-627-DUNK. They'll be happy to help and you'll save the service charge. Clutch is coming up Sunday for the game as our guest ... and I'll give him my personal contribution for the tip jar when he gets here. Don't go changing, hp. Smart ass. Tim
Hey Tim Are there any more tickets left for the three remaining home games? and which tickets are left?
first round only goes on sell I assume.. trying to figure out if I'll be back to Texas by then. Time to go figure out about when first home game will be
There were a few left for Denver and Dallas when I left the office today. Very few. About 100 for Denver and 200 for Dallas. Sacramento was really down to scattered singles when I checked this afternoon; there were no pairs together. Although it's worth it to keep checking -- there's holds on certain tickets (the league gets to keep a lot of seats reserved until a few days before game time, for example, and sometimes a group buys more tickets than they can use and returns some) and things do open up late sometimes. Rocket Fan, the box office will really be geared up to sell the first 3 games of Round One -- if you really want to get round two, though, they should be able to help. I'd be patient with them on that and wait until after Saturday to call about that, though. They'll be running and gunning all day Saturday on Round One. Tim
How many playoff games can Rockets play at Toyota Center? The worst case is 2. (We got swept in 1st round) The best case is 12. (3*4 series, assume we can win at least two games in Finals) Too bad that we may have 16 home games if we have the home court advantage throughout the playoff.
do you know when they release the dates of the games? i cant come to town during the week, but if a playoff game falls during the weekend/friday, ill be there in a heartbeat.
Tim.. no problem. I won't be back until the first week of May so with the season ending on April 14th, might not be able to catch a first round game. Although they changed the first round to 7 games so maybe I could catch a game late in series. It's been so long since we've been in, I don't remember how they are spaced out. If not, I'll just hope they advance to 2nd round.
tim.. one more thing. I'm a college student and I'm curious of a few things because a position similiar to yours, down the road obvoiusly after some experience, is of interest to me. Would you mind if I shot you an email some time with a few questions. I'll wait and let you get through this hectic playoff ticket stuff
