I know this is early but I want to post about it anyway:

For me, the Cavs, Celtics, Suns and believe it or not -- the Blazers.

Cavs - because they will lose LeBron... they have a crappy team.
Celtics - Possibility of Ray Allen leaving... Garnett and Pierce too old... Loss of Thibo... Rondo will literally have to carry that team throughout the regular season.
Suns - No big man for Nash to throw to... this will be the end of Nash's career.
Blazers - the firing of Pritchard will allow this team to crash hard... i'm counting on them to make some dumb moves soon.

Damn.. I have a bad feeling the Lakers will threepeat. I mean, who will stop them??

Orlando? They've proven they are playoff chokers.
    Boston? Read above.
The team Bosh/Lebron/Wade goes to? They'll need at least one year to gel and put together a decent bench.

Not necessarily, Boston in '08 won a championship immediately after that team was assembled.

    cavs and suns.

cavs- they have to say bye to lebron

    suns- stoudimere will leave.

if LBJ, and wade get together in miami, leave alone bosh and they will beat they will win the finals.

Maybe Blazers won't make playoffs, depends on if Oden+Pryz are back, but they won't be irrelevant. They won't pick a GM that wants to break everything up, not when Roy and LMA are in their prime.

Celtics look like they're in trouble, but I can't imagine Pierce not being a Celtic, even if Allen leaves. A core of KG, no matter how weak, Rondo and Pierce is still relevant in the East, especially with all the new coaches there.

Cavs and Suns are a lock considering the high probability Amare and Lebron don't return. Celtics have a high possibility of falling off also with their age but you never know with them. How about the j*zz? They got no Boozer, but they're scrappy/dirty. I wonder what moves they're going to make. If the Hawks don't get Johnson, maybe them too. Spurs maybe also..

Spurs will probably begin falling out the picture, but they will hang on somehow at 8th seed. The ultimate wild card would be the Denver Nuggets, the chemistry of that team seems incredibly unstable after last season.

The team to look out for next season will be the Thunders, and maybe the Rockets as well depending on how well the off season goes.

Boston already had a great bench, before 08, with Perkins and Rondo as carryovers.

roy will carry the blazers. only these teams I think will not make the playoffs:

    cavs
    suns

    others should all be fine.

Depending on George Karl's health, I think the Nuggets might fall off. Karl was the glue that held them together.

Cavs, Suns, Celtics, Spurs all could collapse in a big way.

Orlando aren't playoff chokers by any means , they lost to more talented Lakers in finals in 09 finals . In the '10 playoffs i might even argue Boston talent > Orlando talent overall roster wise.

The Suns won 54 games and went to the WCFs in '05-'06 without Amare. I'm not saying they're equipped to do the same thing if he leaves this year, but they'll find a way to make the playoffs, IMO.

the celts and blazers will be playoff teams next yr KG will be healthier in his 2nd back from knee surgery and the Blazers have Brandon Roy and a plethera of talent last time I checked so theyre ok, the Suns will def slide with Amare all but stayin, I highly doubt PHX sign Dirk like rumors been mentioning and the cavs will fade back to irrelevance if Lebrick doesnt return.. so until James makes his decision I see 1 of those 4 you mentioned (PHX) sliding out of the postseason

Phoenix - STAT's leaving, after all.
Denver - given that that team is filled with idiots, they are badly, badly dependant on Chauncey and Karl to keep them from self-destructing. And with Billups beginning to noticeably decline due to his age (will be 34 when next season begins) and with Karl's health problems, their grip on the team is going to weaken, and they will go boom.

San Antonio and Utah I'm not sure about. Utah could be in trouble if Boozer leaves, but I don't underestimate pure evil, and even with the weakening of their core, the Spurs are too crafty to say that they're done.

Who was great on that bench, exactly? Outside of Rondo and Perkins, who else was left after the trades? Leon Powe? Brian "0 Minutes" Scalabrine? Tony Allen? Eddie House and James Posey signed as free agents in the summer, Sam Cassell and P.J. Brown in the spring. 7 of the 11 players who played more than 8 minutes in the playoffs were new additions. 3 of the other 4 were starters. I'm not sure where you're getting this "great bench" thing.
