Here is how I think the west will shape up next year:

    1. LA Lakers- They only became better by trading for Kareem Rush. With a healthy Shaq, look-out.
    2. Sacramento- Their team is going to stay about the same. So, the Lakers will get the nod over them since they actually got better.
    3. Dallas- This team is a great regular season team, but will never ammount to anything in the playoffs.
    4. San Antonio- Duncan has another MVP season but they again fall short against the Lakers because all their other players suck. (Except Tony Parker)
    5. LA Clippers- This will be their seed if they get either Baron Davis or Andre Miller, which is sure to happen. If not, I see them as the 8th seed.
    6. Houston Rockets- With Ming, Nachbar, and a healthy core of Mobley, Francis, Taylor, Griffin, and Rice the sky is the limit for this team.
    7. Portland TrailBlazers- To much talent to not make it to the playoffs
    8. Utah Jazz/Seattle Supersonics- It depends on who plays better down the stretch. My vote is Seattle since they have more talent than Utah.

So, what do ya'll think? Does it look accurate?

2003- I gotta agree with you but my gut is telling me that the Mavs won't be as good as last eyar.

I think Portland will surprise alot of people. They played incredibly well towards the end of the season, and they weren't themselves in the playoffs. They have chemistry, i think they'll get a top 4 seed.
Rockets will make it, dont know where, but thy will.

Lakers and Kings can't be 1-2, since they are in the same division. Also I'd be very surprised if the T-Wolves don't make the playoffs. Here's my guess:
    1. Kings
    2. Mavs
    3. Lakers
    4. Spurs
    5. Twolves
    6. Jazz
    7. Rockets
    8. Clippers

Oops. I forgot about the T-pups/

    1) Sacramento- More hungry than last year. Gotta prove they belong. Their last real chance.
    2) San Antonio- Former champions. Still have the second best player in the game. Robinson will go out with a bang. Hopefully it is not his back!
    3) Lakers- Tired of the regular season. They will go through the motions and still win 55.
    4) Mavs-Team built for the regular season but not the playoffs. Everybody loves their big three, I don't
    5) T-pups- Garnett Garnett Garnett. Salary Cap, Salary Cap, Salary Cap. This team will never get anywhere because of Garnett's bad contract and Mchale's shenanigans. But Garnett is good for 46 wins.
    6) Portland- Pippen is going out with a bang.
    7) Rockets- Dynasty here we come!
    8) Utah or Clippers- Clippers may move up if they get either Davis or Miller. If they do not get one of those two I believe Utah is going to be the final seed. That is if Malone is not traded.

I think we will get the 4 seed, i have a feeling one of the texas teams will NOT have a better record than us by the end of the season. It would be weird if all the Texas teams and Cali teams made the post season.

    1.La
    2.Sac
    3.S.a
    4.Hou
    5.Dal
    6.Lac
    7.GS
8....um we need another texas of cali team. Ah just throw in portland

a lot of you are putting LA and SAC as the #1 and#2 seeds, but that's not possible, those are predefined for the Midwest and Pacific Division champs... the best they can do is #1 and #3...

    that being said,

    #1 LAL
    #2 Dallas
    #3 SAC
    #4 Spurs
    #5 TWolves
    #6 Seattle
    #7 Utah
    #8 LAC

Young Austin Fans, I know you dont have a Team but if you realy like the Rox like most of us ,you might give them your spiritual support and best wishes for next Season. 51 games should get them into the picture!

    1. LAL- i hate to say it but they did get better.

    2. DAL- they will be worse than last year, but still the best in the midwest.

    3. SAC-same team.

    4. SAS-duncan can only carry them so far.

    5. HOU- if healthy, we can compete for home court.

    6. LAC-depending on their summer, they can fall to the lotto again.

    7. MIN-if rumors of billups bolting to detroit are true, thats a big loss for the pups.

    8. POR-the jazz will play well towards the end of the season to make the playoffs, but the blazers will turn it up... they have too much talent not to.

    1. Sacramento - This will be a team on a mission.
    2. Dallas - If great guard play continues then this is their spot.
    3. Los Angeles - Rush may be the x-factor that could get this team to 1 but barring Rush blowing up they'll finish 3rd.
    4. San Antonio - Playing optimist here Duncan will recieve some help from other teammates.
    5. Minnesota - Expect KG will have another great year but this time help is on the way.
    6. Seattle - Gave a strong showing against San Antonio in the playoffs could have an advantage over remaining west teams as they are for the most part younger and ancient(Jazz).
    7. Los Angeles(Clippers) - They've had a year together and almost made the playoffs. With Odom returning and the prospect of picking up a quality point guard this is their finishing position
    8. Houston - Finally the Rockets return to the post season brackets. I expect a battle for this position with the Jazz and Blazers but sweet victory will finally be ours. This of course all weighs heavy on how good Yao is as an NBA player. If he quickly adapts to the NBA then the Rockets could make it as far up as 6. Ming should be a tremendous complimentary player to Steve nevertheless.

Pippen's last year, I can't believe it's come to this, so soon, all we can hope is that he either goes out with a bang this or signs another 2 year contract.
